It looks wonderful and that corn is something new for me to be in the salad, but it worth to try it and I am thinking to make Mediterranean watermelon salad for tomorrow with a lot of feta cheese and olive oil

Where I live, the national chains-Kroger, Albertsons, Walmart-barely stock decent tomatoes, much less heirlooms. The recipe still looks really good.

I'm grateful to be close to a farmers market. Do you have one? Nothing like fresh vegs and fruit in the summer.

Same-- the tomatoes look good, but no flavor. They could just as well be wax.

@@2Hearts3 Sadly, tomatoes have had much flavor or real red color for 20 years. If people would STOP buying those, then, perhaps the manufacturer would stop & make them do right!

This recipe 2 months or so late. Fresh corn & tomato season is over here in the South due to extreme heat & drought. The heirloom tomatoes are not good & are pricey at the grocery stores.

🤔Seeing as ATK already added a Cook's Country TV video featuring this same recipe about two months ago, it wasn't. 😄

Scrumptious...except for the lime juice; I DETEST limes! So, I'll add lemon juice instead, which I also substitute lime with in guacamole.

Can I skip the jalapenos or just deseed them? I am sensitive to the heat of the flavor of the where the ribs and seeds live.

Basil instead of cilantro? I can't with the cilantro.

Here, yes me too. I have used basil, mint or parsley to sub in depending on the recipe. Sadly soap flavor just doesn't appeal.

I use culantro: I don't like cilantro, so it has a pepperier flavor, and lacks the "weird" taste. Some Latin markets have it: I can get a fresh bundle.

The tomatoes have so little color! How do they taste? I’m sure you’ll say they were delicious, but I don’t know how they have any flavor.🤷🏻♀️

Especially for heirlooms, it can be hard to judge the flavor by the color. I grow a variety of heirloom tomatoes, among them Green Zebras, which, when ripe, are still mostly green (some pale yellow striping develops), but they taste fabulous.
@virginiadaneke23624 ай бұрын
I grow 4 heirloom varieties, all are delicious and none of them are as anemic looking as those.
@TLMuse4 ай бұрын
@@virginiadaneke2362 I've grown dozens of heirloom varieties over the last 20+ years of backyard gardening. This year I'm growing Carbon tomatoes for the first time. With the extra rain we've had in the northeast this year, and the hot midsummer, my tomato crop is smaller and later than usual (excessive heat makes most tomato plants kind of shut down). I had what looked like an under-ripe carbon develop a large crack (probably because of too much rain), so I had to pick it and eat it yesterday. It was only pale red on the bottom. It ended up being the best tomato I've had so far this season. Some heirloom tomatoes can look lackluster but taste great. I'm not saying that's the case in this video, but don't judge an heirloom tomato by its cover. 8-)
