You forgot to mention that the instructions state that the control box MUST stay upright and on a flat surface, not even on its side, only upright and flat. I had mine hanging vertical from the ceiling, and although it worked that way for a few days, it eventually ended up smelling like it was burning up, so I disconnected it and never used it again. Looks like I need to stick with my tried-and-true Battery Tender brand maintainers. I've been using them for over 30 years, and they have never failed me. It appears that I bought a junk $100 Corvette option. Oh well. at least I can pass the information on to others.

I found a spot between the tip of the passenger side wiper blade & fender where the wire fits with hood completely closed without pinching the wire. You can actually feed the wire into the Frunk, or out with hood completely closed, you can feel no pressure on the wire! Less chance of little critters getting into Frunk. Just saying....

Great video. Thanks! Is it safe to keep the charger plugged in all the time? I rarely drive my Corvette, and I've already experienced one dead battery over the winter from not driving it. Recently bought the charger, but haven't read anything on the safety of leaving it plugged in after it says the battery is fully charged.

Yup, it switches to maintenance mode when fully charged

I leave my Corvette in the summer in Tucson. I want to be certain it is safe to keep the charger connected to the car during the hot months in Tucson. Most of the details here deal with cold winter charging. Will it be okay to leave this connected in a warm garage for 5 months in Tucson?

Not something we would advocate for, but ensuring it is not higher then 2amps is best practice especially for the type of batteries used in the Corvette.

Hey Leo, once you close to first position the light shuts. Even if you left your frunk open wide, after ~20mins your battery goes on a safety mode that would shut the light. If you have a persistent light, then you should be heading to your dealership to get it checked out!

You are supposed to run the wire through the other side of the hood. You can completely close the hood this way Look at the holes at the end of each side where the windshield meets the hood
