EASY Crochet Blanket - Using the 5/2 Corner to Corner method! Simple and quick to make too! C2C

Learn how to crochet the EASIEST baby blanket EVER! I'll show you step by step how to make the Corner to Corner (C2C) stitch using the 5/2 method.
It really is SO simple and QUICK - Even for a beginner! It will make beautiful baby blankets, large afghans or pot pads etc. This pattern gives a lovely finish with hardly any holes.
My Rainbow Blanket - I used Scheepjes Colour Crafter in shades:
Maastricht - 1246
Leek - 1132
Brussel - 2004
Wilnis - 1829
Charleroi -2016
Kortrijk - 2009
Barneveld - 1005 (for the border)
You can of course use shades from any brand to make your own rainbow, I also really love Paintbox DK and the following shades would work beautifully:
Rose Red
Buttercup Yellow
Blood Orange
Grass Green
Kingfisher Blue
Pansy Purple

I've always used the 5/2 method of c2c. I've also discovered that if you will ch 5, tr into last 3 ch, then turn, it seems to be a little easier. Give it a try and let me know what you think. Love your videos!

I am finally attempting my first C2C blanket. I have avoided making one until now, as it looked too involved. This video is very helpful. I feel I have a decent grip on it now. The one thing I noticed immediately was that there were gaps which I do not like. This video was exactly what I needed. I have tight tension when crocheting, and am a bit particular about gaps and the like. Thank you

To make holes smaller I use either a 3.5 or 3.75 hook & instead of dc I do hdc which is US terms. Just working on my first C2C now. It's so fun & goes quickly

This is beautiful! I've been crocheting on and off for over 40 years but only the really fine detail things like doilies. I have always hated blankets with lots of holes but this is awesome. I love the way you show the 5/2 method on the c2c blanket. I have a question though. Do you think it would make a difference if you do a single crochet (American terms, double crochet UK terms) instead of the slip stitch when joining the boxes together? I am making a baby blanket with this 5/2 c2c method and I am always catching myself doing a single crochet ( American term) instead of the slip stitch & always taking it out and redoing it. Got to thinking & thought I would ask if it would make a difference if I just continued with the single stitch(American term) in the place of the slip stitch. Do you think it would make a huge difference and would I have to change my chain from 2 to only doing 1 chain. Hope you understand what I am asking.

Hi. Before you start to decrease, what should be the "block count" for every row pls? I've made 4 C2C rectangles, 2 was perfect, 2 I did something wrong, can't figure out what or where, one row is longer than the other, both where I start to decrease. Thank you 😊
