Hi! For the round 9 you need to have 40stiches right? How about the 3inc, 6sc? It will be 55 stiches

In Rnd 8 you have 30 sts. For Rnd 9, 6sc, 3inc = 12 sts (Sc, inc, sc)x4 = 16 sts 3inc, 6sc = 12 sts 12+16+12= total of 40 sts
