I know hot pads and placemats need to be cotton. Is it the same for coasters or does it work fine in acrylic for absorption? Love your tutorials Thank you

Acrylic yarn begins to melt at around 250 - 300°, so acrylic coasters are fine for hot beverages.

Thank you for this pattern. So festive for the holidays. This will be my first coaster attempt. Does it make a difference to use acrylic yarn versus a cotton yarn for the coasters?

The texture and thickness will be different, but the cotton will hold its shape better and be as stretchy.
