These little dishcloths are adorable and great as a gift. People love them! And they are so easy to create.
If you are just learning how to crochet or are a beginner at crochet, this is a wonderful project for you to work on.
I am using one 100% cotton sugar and cream yarn.

I inherited a bunch of my 94yr old Grandmothers crochet hooks, & all her supplies, but unfortunately her hands do not work as they used to. She crocheted since she was 9, & made hundreds of blankets. I honestly had zero desire to learn when I was younger. Flash forward to 4yrs ago, & while in Mexico for my Moms birthday. I asked her what she’d like to do on her special day, & she stated all she wanted to do was to teach me how to make “scrubbies”, as in the round dish cleaners that are crocheted out of netting. Took me a while to learn, but now I can do them in my sleep. The problem is, that’s ALL I know how to crochet! So when I Google searched easy dishcloth patterns, & your video came up I was ecstatic! FINALLY someone who understands that beginners do not know the names of stitches, & need to be shown more then once how things are done. I’m really excited to start on my 1st dishcloth, & you’ve gained a follower for life! Thank you so very much!!!☮️💟

Thanks for the great tutorial! Good pace of information, not a lot of yack but peppered with humor & life lessons. I had just made my first dishcloth with the Sugar & Cream Stripes, using a 5 mm hook and was looking for info on finishing it off when I discovered this video. I’m wondering if anybody puts a loop on one of the corners so you can hang it on a hook to dry between uses? I put one ok but didn’t like how it look although I think it could potentially be useful. Unfortunately, I had lost track of time and it turned out to be 8.5”x 7.0” but I didn’t have the heart to pull out the stitches to make it a square so I left it as is. It’s not like it being a square is the LAW or anything so I guess this will be my own little dishcloth with its charming imperfections and begin Xmas gift production tomorrow. 😊

Sandra Belz thanks! In looking at it with fresh eyes this morning, I do think the dimensions detract and it seems like - ideally to me - it wants to be about 5” square to be used for its intended purpose most effectively. This works out well because I can then make more and therefore, sets, in the same amount of time.

Hi, I do them all the time.. as a matter of fact I am just finishing up a border on one right now! 😄 I also do use them for washcloths in the shower... they aren't too rough for me...it actually helps exfoliate and get those dead skin cells off. To me it is not rougher than those netted pouffe things they sell at the store. I usually make dishcloths, washcloths, coasters and hotpads (not potholders) just the hotpads for putting like a casserole dish on straight out of the oven so your table doesn't get a burn Mark or get warped. I do all of these things in between bigger projects bc I like do crochet something that I can finish quickly and see the results. 😀😂💛. Oh, and yes, I do different stitches for these. The one I'm just finishing up is the primrose stitch. I have done all sorts of different stitches, from puff, popcorn, fp and bp dc, and more. Thanks for the tutorial! 🌼

So pretty and excellent instructions. I am genuinely puzzled about the uses of crochet dishcloths. I just don't get it. I must be doing something wrong. I crocheted a dishcloth but when I used it to wash dishes it was useless and I ended up using a sponge instead. Used the same cotton you did. I hung it up to dry and it took three days. So many people love them that I know I am missing something. Please someone tell me how to use them and what I might be doing wrong. These look like so much fun. Just don't get how to use them properly. Thanks.

I just finished a dishcloth. It’s kellygreen. I didn’t know how to upload a pic. You mentioned selling them at the farmers market. Would you recommend individually or say sets of 3? If so what would you suggest charging. Looking on Etsy it’s so hard to get a gage.
@BohoJouelSandraMBelz
@BohoJouelSandraMBelz 5 жыл бұрын
Yay! I always charged $4 for one, or two for $7. And people were happy to pay that and enjoyed them. They do last a long time so they are worth it. I've seen people sell them for much cheaper, but then I know they can't even be getting their money back for their yarn! Just remember whatever you decide to charge, it's easier to go down on a price and it is to go up. Let me know how it goes for you!

@@charlenecline7793 so if the corners are coming out wobbly, it could just be that you are either adding a stitch or losing one. Try counting stitches and see if that helps. So I tend to do my chain 1 at the end of a row before I turn the piece- I have noticed a lot of other people turn their item before making their first chain one on the next row. So you don't Stitch into that first chain it is your first chain on the next row. I hope that makes sense and I hope I understood your question correctly!

@lidasantander2714 I sell them for $4.00 each, but if you plan to sell, take into consideration the yarn you use and how much it costs as well.

I used to sell them when I did the farmers market a couple of years ago. I would sell them $4 each or 2 for $7. I sold quite a lot of them!

Hi Sandra instead of making dishcloth Can’t you sew them in to a blanket Thank you Marydalton
@BohoJouelSandraMBelz
@BohoJouelSandraMBelz Жыл бұрын
Sure! You could sew different color squares together, or use the same stitch to make a blanket. Create a starting chain the length you want the blanket to be.

@@marydalton7266 You would take the yarn that you're working with, lay the squares next to each other and using a yarn needle thread the yarn back and forth through your chains to connect them. Does that help? If not maybe I could do a small example video this week.

@@creationcrochetnanny8675 You would use a softer and thicker yarn than what I use for the dishcloths, so probably also a bit larger crochet hook. I would say with that chain 150-200 or more until you get the size you like. 😊
