Sara I had made this entire set two years ago with #4 red heart yarn.. I loved how it turned out...but I am going to make the dress again this time with the recommended hook size because the yarn I am going to use is much softer yarn by loops and thread, it almost feels like the Caron simply soft yarn, as we are in spring now and she can wear it till the summer months, so beautiful!! my granddaughter will look so gorgeous in it!! Just go around and make a row of sc decrease all around. Depending how big it is just make 2sc then a sc2tog. This way it’s not a drastic reduction. I hope this helps

For that size you need to increase the number of chains and unfortunately I don’t know what that number would be because it’s all based on the neck measurements for that size. Sorry I can’t be of much help.
