This is very interesting, and I'm going to make 5 squares into a hat. Thanks for sharing this idea. You are very patient with the people in the comments. I think that it's rude to call someone's creation messy when it's not messy. Maybe when they tried it, there's was messy because of the tention. People, let's try and be nicer with your comments.

Tip I discovered: It worked best for me to keep my lighter color always in the back and my darker color always in the front. I even brought both colors through the last hook in the changing of colors and took the color I was changing to pulling it through the opposite color it helped keep the yarn on the same level. You might give it a go and see if it works for you as well. But I loved doing it! I used it for the hood of a granny square jacket. Love your teaching! Enjoy that grand baby when it gets here. Praying your 14 year old son feels better. Thanks once again! I did subscribe!

It’s a beautiful pattern, but the only thing I would like to have the other side nice and clean instead of the different color yarn going across the back. If there’s another way to hide the thread in the back, that way, both sides would look nice.
@CrochetByNora7 ай бұрын
Thank you! Hi yes the only way I can think of is to cut the yarn when changing colours everytime. You will have quite a few ends to tie in. If you are making a blanket eventually there will be less ends as you get bigger too. Anyone have any ideas ?

Hi there! I think I have mentioned DK yarn/ light no3.

My brands are different but they are the same weight as mentioned. But for this pattern you can use any yarn and hook if you are not making a baby blanket to create your project. I always leave a note in the description box too. Hope that helps

The color change concept is very nice & it creates an interesting pattern. However I do agree with the other comments about the back floating yarns. It looks messy. It might take a bit of time & trial stitching, but I’ll bet there’s a way to disguise that carried yarn. Stitchers, put your thinking caps on! 😊👍☕️🍩🧶🧶

Can I ask which method you would use to join the squares to not interrupt the symmetry of the colour change. Thank you

Lovely pattern… I know you’re using DK but can you tell me which brand of yarn this is. I would like to use same colours. ❤
@CrochetByNora8 ай бұрын
Hi I purchased this yarn a while back and I have just checked my order history. unfortunately both of those colours do not exist anymore in their range of shades. The brand is New Fashion by Woolcraft DK. But if it helps, the stripes are like a warm peach and the neutral colours is like fawn or camel colour. Sorry I didn't think to use current yarns.

Can you help me? How much of each color would it take to make an afghan or blanket? I don't think I have enough. I have picasso by ice and a same size white in Caron .I have no idea how to figure out how many yards i need.
@CrochetByNora8 ай бұрын
Hi there! I’ve not made one in an Afghan size so I don’t want to give you any wrong information. However… there is a yarn calculator I always tell my followers to use at jimmybeanswool.com. If you type yarn calculator at the above address in to google it should take you straight there. I’m not able to send a link here. It’s pretty straightforward . Hope that helps

Hi Nora I being making this granny square from my local fair how many rows for a blanket I'm in Collingwood Ontario Canada
@CrochetByNora7 ай бұрын
Hi in Ontario! I would say keep going until it measures how big you want it to be! Thats the beauty of working from the centre. Everyone’s tension is different so For a baby blanket I usually measure 28x28 inches ❤️
