It will sag without supports. Been there got the T-shirt I’m afraid. It’s the constant applied load that’s the problem not a quick hang off it.

@@lousworkshop Very nice work! I had one in the corner of my garage from the previous owner. The home is less than 15 years old and the center definitely needed support. I'm usure when it was originally assembled, but I tore it down as it didn't match my needs. On a side note, I feel like my phone is listening as I told my wife just last night the pantry shelves were leaning. They are constructed the same way.

I like using “Tapcon” screws for securing to masonry walls. A bit faster to install without drilling. I like your corner design and may use it for shelves in my shed. I will support the inside corner because I plan to store a lot of heavier items like tools and bulk food bins. Cheers!

Looks great… would have just used pressure treated lumber at the contact points with the garage floor.

I made something similar to maximize useable storage space by drilling thru the edges of the shelves every 4’ or so and installing 3/8” threaded rod up into cross beams in the roof/ceiling. Sturdy, will not droop, and eats up very little shelf space.

@lousworkshop

Hi 👋, I drilled the hole first then inserted the fixing. They’re called ‘ hammer fixings’ in the UK. They’re a combination of a nylon plug and a hardened drive screw specially designed to fix battens to masonry 😃👍🛠
