Yes, because it's elastic waistband and not a zipper. It needs to be able to pass through the hip.

Hi Sis this 1inch you used on the crotch extension does this work of everyone or does it have to do with the fact that the pants already have ease that's why you used 2 inch?

It’s because of the ease. Between 1.5 to 2inches is okay
