Easy DIY Outdoor Portable Camp Shower (NO TOOLS NEEDED)
In today's video, I needed a quick portable shower to use on an upcoming camping trip that I'm taking with my truck camper. This portable camping shower is perfect for truck campers, tiny homes, mobile homes, van lifers, backpackers or just regular campers. I was able to build mine for a little bit more than $20 and the only necessary tool you need is a regular household pair of scissors. Hopefully you enjoy this quick DIY hack video. For mine I put a strip of tape up the side and spray painted it black. Remove the tape to see water level. Black helps to heat up the cwater in the sun.

I did it 🎉 I wasn’t going to worry about an shower option in my camper van until later on down the road because all the spots I’ve camped at have showers but I think the next spot I’m camping at does not have a shower option and this video was perfect. Also heat up the tube first with a heat gun and it will stretch a lot easier when installing the nozzle.

thanks ! i also use a 1,5 liter water boiler kettle ( 1500 watt ) from my kitchen to heat up the water with solar ( cooking water 50/50 with cold water will do the job )

Have had off grid land for years that I camp on, sometimes for extended periods and I've stressed over what to do for a shower. Don't want one of those cheap camp 'shower' bags that you fill with water and hang up, don't want an expensive portable shower pump contraption... This is perfect. Simple, inexpensive, easy. Great idea, I don't see why it wouldn't work! You could also leave a vertical strip of tape before spray painting to see the water level.

I don't know if you ever watch "This Old House" on PBS growing up as a kid? I figured since you're in the New York area, if you know anyone that works in PBS, you should see if you could back into that show because of your knowledge and teach the kids of the next generation. If you get on the show, I think they'll pay you, you just do the work and explain how to put things together just like you're doing on YT except on national tv. dual-ex will become a celeb. :)

You can get about anything to fit, if you want something different. If you want a true shower head, you can do that, but you'll need something to turn off the pressure, and it will cost more. Get a barb fitting adapter to a ball-valve (best option that's easily available to turn it off) and adapt that to a standard shower head fitting. You can get one of those replacement sprayer heads for cheap and hook that up to it. Still should be around $30. You can get a sprayer at Harbor Freight or anywhere. They make bigger ones, too. Something to think about: I've seen where the smaller sprayers work better, as seen on CheapRVLiving/Bob Wells. Air is easier to compress, so more air should be better to get more pressure. There are almost endless combinations of fittings. Having installed hundreds of dishwashers, you'd be amazed at what people will do to make their plumbing work, many things are wrong in a situation where it's plumbed into your house, but this isn't a permanent installation, so do what you want. Less fittings is better to prevent leaks, especially if you're not using tools to tighten the fittings together.

I built one, but I used a higher quality metal sprayer from Chapin as these low cost Home Despot sprayers are notorious for having bad seals and failing after a short time. Also the Chapin came with a 3/8th's hose for more volume which may or may not be what you want as it goes through the water a little faster. Other than that, I'm glad you made this video so that I would attempt to make my own vs buying a prebuilt one.

What a God send! I just watched a video for a more complicated, and expensive portable version using a 5 gallon water bottle and a submersible pump with a cordless battery pack. Total DIY cost would’ve been at least $200. Or $300 for one built by the developer of this system. But your video will help save us a grip $$!
