This is just what I needed! I knew there was a reason I was keeping a hold of the toilet rolls haha !! The mirror could be turned a 90 degrees on its side, less toilet rolls and look like an eye with eyelashes!

DIY TIP: If you want to use longer tissue core that are also more durable, save the cores of your kitchen foil and clear cling wraps. Same for when you order vinyl sheets. Those cores are super handy!

OMG I love the jewelry stand!! I don't have too many necklaces/bracelets because I had no place to keep them from tangling. This is perfect. With the garland idea, you could spray paint them frost blue and white or do a traditional red and green for Christmas. That's what came to my mind when I saw those. My 3-year-old daughter loves the pastel pink idea for the mirror idea. I'd probably do pink&purple pastels for her room though. Love painting so it'll be a fun project to do.

The mirror is my fave! Its retro like those old sunburst mirrors but a modern version. And made from toilet rolls! Genius.

Hey Drew! When you've burned down the candles (or you can chop them off at the base of you don't want to wait) put your candle holders upside-down on a baking sheet lined with paper towel (you really want to use paper towel here) and put it in a cold over. Turn the oven to 200, or whatever the lowest setting on your oven is, and leave it all in there for a half hour or so. The wax will melt out if the candle holder and be absorbed by the paper towels. Turn the oven off and leave it all in the oven until it's cooled enough for you to handle. Remove your (now clean) candle holders and leave the paper towel to cool fully. When the wax has totally cooled the towel will be stiff and you can pop it out of the tray and toss it. These are so cute and once you know how to clean them, you can use them over and over.

As the cement is hardening, literally you need to find the right moment between while it’s soft enough to push in and hard enough for the shape to hold. Wrap whatever item you want in cling film and push it in, spray with a little oil so it can slip out once dry, as it’s not in there the whole time it should be pretty easy to come out! Hope this helps! The candles and mirror are on my to do list!!

When working with cement, use something bendable, crushable, or something you can rip as the mold. My personal favorite is craft foam sheets and electrical tape. Hope that helps.

Hi Drew, whenever I or my dad make a mall for cement we usually put some cling film at the object that needs to be removed before putting vaseline on, so maybe you could give that a try!

Yes! I use plastic wrap, garbage bags, whatever I can use that fits what I am making. I have made tons of pots, bird baths, even a sink once. Never had a problem removing the inside mold. All else fails, a little WD40. Also about half way through the drying time, gently rotate candle to loosen the bond.

I have been doing plant maintenance, I hung a shelf above my bed to hold more plants, and redid the shelf in my kitchen and painted it a light lavender. I try to practice social distancing as much as possible, but I do work in a grocery store. I will have two days in a row off this next week so I will be organizing, cleaning my spare room that will be a guest bedroom. When these candles are burned down, to remove them just melt the wax out of the hole.Pour boiling water over it. The outer layer of wax will melt and you can pull out the stub.

Adressing your "candlestick stuck in cement"-problem. Just melt the candlefluid an let it drip out. If you then want to fit another stick, and it may be to tight, you can use a slightly bigger stick before or warm up the end of the new stick with a lighter so you can squeeze it in. You should get a pretty good bond, having in mind that these large candles tend to fall out anyways. Greetings from germany :)

If you think toilette paper roll are too small or not strong enough I save all the rolls from aluminium foil and clinging wrap from the kitchen and they are so strong if you would have a lot I am pretty sure you could make furniture out of them.

Thankful for your thoughtful content and enormous heart. Some more ideas to add to the arsenal... (1j When my kids were tiny, now your age, they made napkin rings for the first big Thanksgiving we hosted. In our case we painted them teal, cut them in half, & hot glued dry eucalyptus leaves on them in an overlapping fashion. So easy and they loved helping. When the compliments rolled in they beamed with pride! (2) For the awesome (COPPER!) jewelry stand, depending on how heavy your jewelry is, some folks might need a stronger cross bar. So I thought using foam insulation, paper mache, or even cement might work to fill in the interior of each tube...AND for a different look you could simply glue down fabric to match the decor. (3) Another idea, to organize earrings or rings just cut the tubes into thinner rings, staple or glue them together at the sides to set in a drawer or tray or bowl, and finally (4) you could vary the thickness of the rings in #3 and create either a mobile, a garland, wreath, embellishment for a frame, or even a curtain a la the 1960’s, paint them out in whatever color you like.
