Did it just like he explains, works great for me and for one fourth of what a room divider costs online (not to mention those dont cover from wall to wall and even take up more space and can get knocked down easily), 5 stars for a quick do it yourself! 👌🏼

This seller ships this item very carefully to ensure that your room divider kzbin.infoUgkxWv_wTHyTRVm0QkcOw1Rz2-5g_gDoRTkU is not damaged in transit. They even place stickers saying glass, handle with care. I originally bought a 4 panel room divider, but after receiving it I knew I needed larger for the area I was trying to hide. I wanted a 6 panel, but it was not offered in the Espresso color that I wanted, so I went with 5 panels. This is serving my purpose very well on hiding my dog's pee pads. I ended up using the 4 panel one in a corner behind my Christmas tree. The best thing is you do not have to put anything together, you just take it carefully out of the box and place it where you want it. It can be moved around very easily. Plus, these dividers start at the floor, so nothing is seen moving around on the other side like some other dividers I looked into. Now that I have a 4 and 5 panel one, I am sure that I can get them to overlap and work other ways should I need to in the future.

Thank you so much for this amazing video! You explained everything so I could actually understand! I love that you showed what parts you used and exactly how to use them. I learned so much! Any ideas on the best way to make a L shaped room divider for a classroom ceiling? It’s a drop ceiling and I can’t drill into the walls or ceiling. And it has to be easy to take up and down or at least easily remove the curtains each day. I will have to store the curtains each night so something that would be easy to roll up or fold. But then easy to hang up the next day. I will be using queen or king size flat sheets as the dividers, unless somebody has a cheaper suggestion. I’m trying to make this happen as easy and thrifty as possible. I hope this makes sense and I really hope you might have some ideas or tips for me.

Hmm, I'd use a carabiner to attach the sheets. Those are easy to remove. You could also just attach the carabiner to the metal on the roof.

Going to do this but I will add a washer and a nut in the eye bolt so that I'm not screwing the eyebolt itself into the drywall.
@sssiod
@sssiod 2 жыл бұрын
Nice job! Looks good and looks like it works great. One suggestion on installing another one or upgrade, is to get some lag screw eye bolts and thread them right through the drywall into a wood stud. May have to drill a small hole and then thread in the lag screw eye bolt. If the stud isn't in the wall where you want to hang it you can screw on a 2x4 section that spans two studs and then lag screw anywhere on the 2x4. Paint it the same color as the wall.

What’s a lag screw?
@sssiod
@sssiod 2 жыл бұрын
@@lauriejohnson126Regular lag screw connects materials together that will hold a large load like a deck to a house, or a board on a wall. An eye lag screw is a course thread heavy duty fastener for lifting, rigging, suspension. But there are all kinds of sizes of lag screws depending on what the application is. Lag screw a floating shelf, TV wall mount, or suspension cable wall to wall in wood studs.

The place we did this in was a rental as well lol. Nothing a little spackle and paint can't solve. I wouldn't use command hooks though, the curtains weight too much I would think

An eye bolt, or eyelit. Basically just a round hole attached to the roof to re-direct the wire the other way.

The anchors will just unscrew and fall inside the wall 🧱. Just patch it and paint it and no one will ever know.
@thewalkingrob8840

You just turn the turnbuckle the opposite way and it will be loose again. Then twist out the eyebolt but yea the back will fall into the wall 😂

When I went to Europe, I stay in a place that had a curtain like wall, but was made of segments of small slabs of wood that retracted in a corner. Anyone knows what such type of walls are called? There was some type of rail in the top that guided to curve around as well, as the decided was like an L shape. However on the room I like to do, is a straight up wall. I like to do like a fake wall, because would be to enclose a TV room, that I want as dark as possible. I rather do that than build a wall and a door, as i could have the place open when the tv is not in use. Plus the room permanently enclosed would be weird, if I were to sell the place in the future...

1:18 How do you make the hole? Tku so much for including the supplies list but I'm not quite following you in how to do this. Will it work to hammer a nail in and then pull the nail out? Or? And will scissors work if I need to cut the wire? And these pieces kinda sorta look alike in that if I were to do this, I'd need to freeze-frame your video every couple of seconds to make sure I'm doing it right - from what I see, if I make one oops, it will fail.
@sammott8557
@sammott8557 2 жыл бұрын
and it doesn't seem that the links to the supplies are all accurate. Plus, whoa, is it like over $200 for all the supplies? (Sorry, I sound like a nay-sayer, eh. This project may be too advanced for my skill level.)
@TheDayFamilyVlogs
@TheDayFamilyVlogs 2 жыл бұрын
I actually have to fix the links on the video sorry. It shouldn't be that much. Homedepot has everything, you can get the wire cut to a custom length there as well. Use a hammer and a screwdriver to make the hole. Good luck!

Looks like crap and i bet it holds like it looks. If your going to do something in a kids room do right and up to code dont cut corners guys just frame it in.
@brookepatten316
@brookepatten316 2 жыл бұрын
Not all of us are carpenters or can afford carpenters. This is a simple, short alternative that will work just as nicely as “framing it in” and not permanently separate a room that only needs temporary privacy. I cannot even imagine the problems that would cause when trying to put the house on the market! Let the man do his best and lay off the negativity.
