Ducks are so stinkin cute when they wag their tails, they do that same as a dog when they are happy. I may have said before I lived in Hendersonville, TN many years ago. I don't remember that park, I wonder when it was first opened, it looks like a lovely place to spend some time. Your island project is turning out so nice, congrats on a stellar job. A tip I would like to give you for cutting wood is if you mark all your pieces ahead like you did be sure to take into account the kerf of the blade and add it or your piece will be that much shorter after cutting it. For those who don't understand, the kerf of a saw blade is about 1/8th inch so if you mark a piece of wood to be 8" long and cut it the kerf of the blade will chew away that much wood and you will end up with a cut 7-7/8" instead of 8" or whatever the kerf of your particular blade is.

And, if you can' t find legs for the island, you could use some of the decorative wooden brackets or corbels underneath the countertop. Glad to see you so happy. You really deserve it! Your island looks great! The reason for the price difference in the trim was probably because the unpainted was a solid piece and the primed trim was finger joined, which means it was several pieces joined together. Those break easily, but can work well in some applications.

I love the trim and green you painted it. Are you going to leave the other cabinets white the would also look great painted the same color. You could always put that rug in your bedroom if you found a greenish rug for the living space. Looks great!
