I’ve been worm composting for 20 years and love it. I placed some of my bins right on the soil so that liquid goes right into garden. Warning-don’t add papaya leaves. Papaya is great for digestion and will digest your worms. This was a hard lesson when I got started. Thank you for sharing. 😊

It's been working great so far. Nothing like producing your own castings!

Any tips for keeping the worms from too much heat? It will get into the triple digits here. Thanks!

I keep mine indoors. We will get triple digits here too. I would like to have them outside but it just gets too hot and too cold during the winter. They work or eat the best in room temps.

Maybe you could buy one more container and stack it (no holes at the bottom) to keep the leachate contained 🤷🏽♀️ I’m definitely doing this :) thank you 😊 bc I didn’t want to purchase that expensive bin😅

You don’t want to do that. As I explained in the video, you don’t want to have liquid coming out of the bottom as that is a sign of your bin being too wet and can cause your bin to go anaerobic and start killing off worms. Don’t listen to anyone telling you this. They make those bins that have spigots on them and those are misleading because that “leachate” isn’t the worm tea people think it is. There is a simple process to make tea out of your castings that I am going to make a video on soon. Just don’t let your bin get that wet, and if it does add some more paper, cardboard, or dried leaves to soak it up before the bin gets dangerous for your worms.
