Congratulations on your and Alfred's wedding! I have a question...is it unusual to have issues with your nails feeling heat pain when using UV gel polish?

It's not unusual. What you do is as soon as you feel heat, pull it out of the lamp for a couple seconds and then place it back in. Heat also usually means you've applied too much product at one time, so try to work in thinner layers.

this can sometimes happen if your nails are very thin or have been overfiled

What I do is press my fingers down to kind of spread the heat and it usually helps. So I don't have to pull them out. Yes, it happens when your nails are thin which mine are :(

My 15 year experience with hard gel and all types of gels is that some gels will burn, some will not, no matter how much product you put on. For a year now I've been using IBD hard gel and it burns like a mdfkr...😭 bit with polygel it doesn't burn at all. Also, if your gel polishes are burning, try a different brand. I remember that Madam Glam was burning me horribly, plus I had bad allergic reaction to them. Try replacing the gel brand.

I end up popping my nails in and out of the UV for a few seconds at a time for the first 30-45 seconds then I can let them sit for the full time, uninterrupted. It doesn't seem to matter what brand I use. I don't use acrylics on my nails, so the surface of my nails aren't buffed off thin...I'm just sensitive. :) lol I was really just curious if I was being a total wuss or if this was actually a "thing".
