Good afternoon from Atlanta GA USA, Samantha! The temperature here is freezing with a wind chill of TOO COLD FOR ME! I adore this earring design. I almost choked on my hot tea when you mentioned Sputnik. In the mid to late 1950s I started making earrings for my dear Mother. She loved my creativity and would often ask if they could be longer or larger - or even both. She would say 'it would be a shame if they cannot be seen from Outer Space' and 'I hope everyone on Sputnik can see them'. (I was born in 1950 so Sputnik came along when I was 7.) As a result of Mother's LESS IS NOT MORE - MORE IS MORE comment I usually created highly visible jewelry. Chonky jewelry led to costumes so I was in the designing and creating stage jewelry and costume business as a side-hustle to my actual career. Mother was always my first, most vocal and definitely my most supportive model - in addition to always being my very best friend! Thank you for all your wonderful videos and of course your watm and gracious personality! When you mentioned Sputnik I felt I had an unexpected warm, loving hug from my beloved, precious Mother. My almost ¾ of a century old heart considers that a rare gift. I apologize for any typos. I am wearing a huge smile while tears are flowing. Mother would have 95 on the 20th so you triggered more joy than I cam express. (She passed in 1999. Faaaaaarrrrrrrrr too young!) Hugs to you Samantha.

What an absolutely amazing story! Thank you so much for sharing this with me 🥰 I love how crafting and making things can bring people together, but also bring so many memories to the fore. I’m so grateful for you sharing your memories with me ❤️

Hey Sam! Those earrings, although not to my taste, are fantastic! You are so creative it blows my mind sometimes! You truly are an inspiration to crafters and self-taught jewelers like me who are still getting their feet wet, where sometimes coming up with fresh ideas isn't always so simple. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to your channel to not only entertain us but also to help those of us who need a little guidance with crafting and jewelery making! Keep on with the great videos!

These are adorable! I mostly love the delicate looking bead work. I love how you were able to hide the string.
