Hi Maisie, I don't remember exactly but I want to say it was somewhere between 30-35 rows. On projects like this, I prefer to measure the length instead of counting the rows so I can knit mindlessly. 😀

Are these the mitts for Clair on the Outlander series? I had the directions but with my scribbling I have the all messed up. I have knitted a couple pair but not sure if they were right. I like the finished product and thanks for the tutorial. I just find it a bit disappointing that you don't show how to start with a purl stitch the English style (yarn in your right hand) and only how to start with the continental way. Also I find it a bit negative that you only show the English style in slow-motion. Gives me a feeling like if you knit that way you are a bit slower to catch on or something. I really like your other tutorials and have almost finished a shawl where you also made a tutorial for. The beginner shawl where you start at the point and increase on the same side until it is as big as you want it.
