Its a good think thats the back of the house. Those lines being that close and not staggerd would drive me nuts. And the caulking job especially on the crack of the plank that was not replaced. Ouch, it just hurt my eyes. Im glad the title was quick and easy repair.

No flashing behind your vertical seams :( This was not done correctly. And why would you use brown caulking? Are you painting the house brown?

@@dominickespinoza8341 Color doesn't mater if house will be painted. No mater white or gray or whatever color of the house - paint will cover any color of the caulk. Not very important flashing on these 3 seams.

Oh, forgot to answer why I used brown. The answer is very simple - simply because I already had an open tube of brown from a previous project.

Why is he caulking the ends of the Hardie boards that meet together?? The ends by the corner trim, understandable, but not supposed to caulk the ends that meet in the middle due to siding expandability. 🤷🏽

@@FixitAll Got it. Not sure if you used the H1 caulk which doesn't gum up like regular caulk does. And having a wet towel with u and keeping your finger wet to smooth out caulk will save u a mess of the siding and your fingers. (I still get pointers from KZbin all the time as a contractors. Team work is all about helping each other out with tidbits 💁🏻‍♂️) Everything else was 👍🏽.

Do you work in the trades? If you do residential jobs, you'd know that this is absolutely acceptable work. I'm a contractor (Handyman). After discussing repair options with the homeowner, I'd say more than 50% of people that I've worked for would rather save some money and have it done exactly how he did it. That's not to say it's the best way or the way I'd do it on my own house, but it's definitely acceptable if that's what the homeowner wants.
