Something odd happened to the footage that we uploaded for you to use with this tutorial. It only contains the frozen frame for the effect but can still be used with motion by creating a new freeze frame to extend the clip, then making a compound clip of it. You can then follow the tutorial. Sorry for the issue!

Fantastic video. I appreciate the notations at the top left because when I follow along after viewing its easy to go back if I need to rewatch a segment. I appreciate you getting right into the video as well. Great stuff. So glad I saw this in the subreddit!

I wasn’t going to bother adding the freeze effect to my character bios in an upcoming video. It’s my first, actually, and the learning curve has been steep and interminable. Between this video and the video about creating templates for the edit page, I’ve changed my mind. Thanks for making my art better ❤

Im trying to follow along with my own clip but after I split the video and do freeze frame and go to the fusion tab. My clip doesnt show up in the preview( even since the play head is on the clip and the clip is selected) do you have any suggestions on what to do?
@CoreAndBlue2 жыл бұрын
Yes, DaVinci resolve might not auto-select the proper clip if your are switching to Fusion by clicking on the tab. Right click on the clip and choose to open in Fusion. This should solve your issue. Let us know if that worked. 😊

from 6:47 to 6:50 how do you blend the freeze frame onto the background?? i only can color grading the freeze frame but not the background
@CoreAndBlue3 жыл бұрын
Hey, thank you for watching! In this exemple, the background is on a duplicate lower track so you need to select the lower track in the color tab. Everything could also be directly done in Fusion by feeding both clips into a Fusion clip but that would be a little more technical and we will cover that in a future tutorial.

6:55 - You say to drop Saturation to 0 BUT U did not say that it is necessary to INVERT the mask. When I drop Sat the image inside mask becomes B/W not the surroundings. And I do not know how to invert this. Otherwise if U mean I need to color correct the duplicate clip (the one that was left below on the timeline) pls make a Note in your video as it is absolutely unclear.

@@xtAqHNpFg @randomtrendz I figured it out. Go back into the track page where your clips are, click on the bottom original clip (not the one you created all the nodes on) right click and then click 'Open in Fusion' then click on the color tab and desaturate everything to zero. This then affects the unworked clip leaving the one in this video in color. Took me an hour of clicking around and almost gave up!

why my object is getting black and white not the background can anyone help
@CoreAndBlue3 жыл бұрын
Hey, happy to help. First review your nodes tree to make sure inputs are matching the example in the video. Then, in our version, we use a second duplicate track for the background that is color corrected separately. You can send us a screenshot of your edit and fusion page to our email available in the about tab of our channel for more support.

@@CoreAndBlue thanq for replying I was doing the color page thing on different node now I corrected myself Thanq so much Great tutorial👍
@CoreAndBlue3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, you could very well do everything within 1 fusion clip with 2 MediaIn and 2 colors corrector nodes but this way allows you to easily animate and color grade the foreground and the background separately. Glad you enjoyed !

Can someone tell me how is he getting those very thin blue lines on top of his clips in the timeline view. I know they show that clips are being rendered in real time ... but how does one enable that for smooth playback ?
