Thank you so much for this tutorial Julia. I love your work, i love your voice. A tip: When removing hair from different textured places (ex: Eyes, eyebrows etc), select with the lasso tool (L), if needed, smooth the selection by 2px with Shift+F6 and then use the Shift+Backspace, select the "Content-Aware" mode and smart Fill. It works wonders and miracles and saves you a ton of times. Can also be used to remove imperfections from backgrounds on your pics, if you want. Cheers from Brazil.

Yess the patch tool is great for removing things as well! I usually use it when I'm retouching fabric that has a pattern, as you can easily match the pattern that way rather than using stamp or healing brush :)

Julia! Thank you for the AWESOME tutorial! One question... I see that you made your top layer differently this time compared to the old video. For example, Using "Subtract" instead of "Add" and "Offset: 128." Which one should we follow? :)

I Wonder if you could achieve similar results with the latest improvements on the adjustment brush in lightroom, seems a lot more useful now for this purpose... could be a good challenge for you and awesome content for those (like me) who are still trying to avoid Photoshop as much as possible... Cheers from Brazil!

Great tutorial. One recommendation... add a blank "non-destructive" layer over layer 1 to do the edits on the blurred layer as you did in the subsequent layer edits.

Thanks for this great explanations! What if we first edited in Lightroom and added Grain? Should we remove the grain, edit the skin and go back to Lightroom to add the grain? :) Thank you in advance !
@juliatrotti

Glad you liked it! I would personally add grain after I retouch, as adding it before can make retouching a lot more tedious than it needs to be :D

Julia, I enjoy your video and have watched it quite few times, but there are two questions I would like to ask you: I definitely see the lost in sharpness in my final image. The gaussian blur didn't go away after finishing the job. Is there a special way to savethe picture after finished, so that the sharpness will be retained as the original one? Thanks for the nice video!

Hi - first of all I LOVE this channel. Thank you for making amazing content. I'm trying to learn how to do frequency separation but around 5:10 I get tripped up. When I try to use the HBT it doesn't work. I sample a nearby area and nothing. I do notice that your color picker area is blue on top and white on the bottom. Mine is black on top and white on the bottom. Is that why?
