I've been using acetone with a grip removal tool for years in removing golf grips without destroying them. Sometime, it wasn't easy! This time was the worse in trying to remove a paddle board putting grip. I could not get it to budge. I came across your video recommendation to use grip solvent which I did and it couldn't have been easier. After 25 years of struggling, I have now found a new method of removing golf grips! Many thanks to you, sir!!!!!

I ordered one of those grip removal tools off of Amazon while I was trying to pull grips off of the shaft by using my air compressor. There was a grip that was stubborn and I thought at the time this grip tool would work wonderfully. Except moments later I pulled the grip off nice and clean using air. I've got a few more grip changes so I might need the tool as a backup since removing grips using air is my preferred method.

I've done both methods of grip removal, bent coat hanger & $25 GolfWorks tool. The GolfWorks tool is so much faster. Recently switched all of my grips, GolfPride TV +4 mids, Driver down to PW, midsize TourVelvets on my wedges. For removal I put a folded rag inside a 2 gal. bucket on the floor, a bit more leverage for the longer clubs.

Great video! Used this technique removing my grips, worked out well. Instead of the special grip removing tool I found an old barbecuing long handled spatula laying around to use. By removing the spatula flat part all was left was a small flat landing with rivet holes. Filing the hard edges to give it a hopefully non scratching end. Also bent the handle side bar to off set it away from the golf shaft.

But I'm getting anxious before the new grip comes in and want to go ahead with the process. Going short heavy regular flex steel shaft and a long light graphite stiff flex. I retired the regular about a year ago was too long. But I don't want to go cutting around on the graphite shaft. I'm hoping a little more weight shortened will be good for keeping me in the fairway. I average 275 off the tee. But even if my numbers drop to 260 with it I'd be happy

I’ve switched to using a compressor to put grips on. I even stopped charging one of my friends to change his grips bc it’s just too easy. He came by the other day and one at three grips put on. It took less than five minutes and that included getting everything set up. If I get a new club I’ll put on the type of grip I like. Depending on the type of grip I may decide that my time is more valuable than the grip.
