Handbrake supports AV1, it will take longer to encode, unless you have a new video card that has hardware acceleration for AV1, but the quality to file size ratio is better. AV1 is really easy to decode, so most of your devices should be able to decode it using VLC or a similar player

I shot a video in 4k (25p 100) in dimensions 16:9 and in the editing software I turned it to 9:16 so that it fits Tiktok. How do I shrink it to fit WhatsApp, that is, up to 64 mb without harming its quality because it seems to come out "smeared" in WhatsApp? Thanks

It depends so I'd recommend you try Handbrake on your movies and quality settings to see how long it takes.

I think it depends and this also includes Blu Rays and at least for me, I haven't had issues yet with discs I own.

It might have issues with some of the newer releases but for the vast majority of disc's - yes. There's also an option to make disc backups with or without protection. It really depends on your countries copyright laws regarding personal backups and cracking copy protection. BTW MakeMKV is only free for DVDs and a 30 day trial for Bluray/Ultra HD. After that I think you need to pay for it to rip blurays.

Thx for info! Yeah the license expires every 30 days but I did purchase a lifetime license to avoid constantly changing licenses.
