Fantastic video. I’m so happy I found this channel. I feel it helps to have the grip underhand for jumping as I need to regroup the sail and board towards my chest. Is this correct? Generally I got stuck in my old 90s habit of gripping underhand but I can see upper hand works much better for some things. And your explanations made it so much clearer. But I was still wondering about jumping time. Thanks anyway

With underhand grip you tend to pull in too quick when you are riding in hard conditions, but when jumping can be helpful as you want to pull in and close to sail for more lift and control

Is there a "must" regarding the front arm being stretched or bent? I've heard both as a "must". Thanks for the video!!

Actually both is correct.. depending on when and what you are doing. You want to get planning, keep full power and control going hard upwind, you need your frontarm stretched, even put your fingers only onto the boom and push palm of your hand toward the sail for max stretch. When fully planning, going good speed, sailing over chop, inbetween waves, downwind etc you need to relax your arm, elbow low so you can bring max power onto the harness and transfer sailpower through your body, core and legs, onto the board....
