To be fair, that portaband looks like it could USE some restoration, but it works currently, so I guess it's a matter of opinion. EDIT: Don't forget to keep that table top sealed, or it'll rust up on you pretty damn quick. I'd actually suggest a coat of clear lacquer, then rub paste wax on it so that your work will slide easier. Might also suggest a fence, as it makes repeatable cuts or straight cuts very easy.

I like what you've done but do you want to do me a favour and when you get chance just weld a metal surface socket box inside where you've mounted that panel switch...so it forms a proper enclosure as you've got exposed live parts there... Get one of those knockout boxes, weld it in at the back to form an enclosure for the switch and then fit a couple of plastic Stouffer glands in it....for proper cable entry's... Good lad...🇬🇧☺️
