I tried this, and it wasn't working for me, but I found out that if the file extension is ".GIF" with all caps it won't work, but ".gif" with no caps worked. So make sure your file extension has no caps.

For some reason I can't find the Flipbook option when editing the shader, there was also no unlock option, in fact the entire UI looks nothing like what you are showing here. is there an updated tutorial anywhere?

You are most likely not using poiyomi which this ONLY works with poiyomi shaders. Your SDK isnt imported properly and the entire shader UI is broken, or you're using poiyomi 8 which isnt the version used in this tutorial

Hi! When I try to drag any gifs to the square box, nothing happens. The material is unlocked, unity version is the same, and it isn't converting into a texture array. Maybe it's the poiyomi version? Any fix on this?

Hello! It could be poiyomi version, gifs being too big, etc. Although I don't see any reason why it shouldn't go into a array. It also could be because your computer isn't saving them as gifs, I had that problem as well. Although any other issues I have not run into yet :

“(easy)” i have no clue how to do any of this a lot of it is because you have so many of the steps completed so it makes it that much harder to see what i’m supposed to be doing exactly.

Hello, just because I label a video "easy" doesn't mean it's going to be easy for every individual person :) for the general viewer it has. If you need further clarification on anything feel free to ask. I also have many past videos, such as how to make materials, how to change texture colors. That you can reference as well if you are extremely beginner to unity. Although I cannot help you with anything if you make a criticism but give no means for a solution, because I don't know where you're confused.

That being said, I've done this process on multiple occasions on my own, just as shown, and have never had an issue. But please, if you think you can make a video thats more explanatory than I did, go ahead. I am one person, and can only do much. Thank you.

​@@dwuckiesvr if you actually had done this on your own multiple times then you would know for a fact the video here would NOT HELP people because you left out 75% of the process all of your videos you are just using some one else avatar so you are not spending hours making this stuff from scratch like i do! so that whole "Im just one person" is completely irrelevant you are just a texture artist witch is basically dragging and dropping PNGs 98 percent of the time and altering what some one else has already done in photo shop so the fact you run across ppl like 69 605 who knows what they are talking about your excuse is " well.. i will really show them how to do it in some other video later this is just the basics " that is sad! then you got the nerve to talk in your other videos with an attitude like your a professional when you don't even make 98% of what you are even showing trust me when these videos hit you and the rest of these "vrchat avatar creators" will fade into history like dead memes and congrats on only 160 likes out of over 3000 views and only 37 comments ..hmmm that might mean something ... you think?
