Easy How to Adjust Ski-Doo Snowmobile TRA Clickers Trailside

Since adding a clutch kit setup on our 2009 Ski-Doo 600 e-tec snowmobile, we found we were over revving and hitting the rev limiter. For best performance you want to keep the engine in the powerband the longest without over revving the engine.
It is recommended Max RPM is 7800 RPM. We were well over 8000 when we started this project. The easiest way to lower max RPM is to lower the clickers. The factory setting for the TRA Primary clutch clickers were at 3. In this video we lower to 2. Each decrease in number affects the RPM by approx. 200RPM. Since this video we have set the clickers to 1 and its a lot better. The power is way better and we only hit rev limiter once in a rare while. Next season we will try to combat this with weighted pins.

not as good as P-Drive or a Comet primary but the TRA does the job

Actual in the field testing, you may not always actually see changes in the tachometer. But the shift rate will have changed... The engine needs to pull more RPMs going uphill. This Is taken directly from the race department as l remember from the pages of their race manuals. Side by side testing with a bench mark sled yields the best results.

Can you make a video of clutch alignment? I’m not sure if I’m doing this right. I rebuilt the motor so everything has been taken out and now the belt has a bit of a dog leg

I have a 2011 renegade backcountry I find it gets too much rpm when I am going on the trail I’m trying to pick up speed but I’ll be 20mph three community and it’s will be at like 8000 rpm and so I og off the gas and my sled is tipping out at 60-80 mph and the rpm is probably at like 10 to max

your max rpm power should be 8000 and it should hold power at that rpm. I think you need heavier spring and/or more weight.

@@mudbrats I uploaded a video of my driver I don't think it's engaging smoothly maybe the previous owner tried to mess with it I took it apart cleaned lubed and timed it and it's a little better on the vibrations but still seems sticky
