It’s not gone! It’s just under the “avatar” menu. On the right end of your comment text box, there’s a square emoji icon. Just a face like this 🙂 but square (it’s called Avatar). You tap on it and it opens a menu where you can switch from Avatar to GIF. That option is at the bottom of that menu.
