It's works, but there's an update which will make all the hard job work perfectly after rooting the device...which means SuperUS need to be updated after the rooting.

I tried this and it said it was rooted on Kingo, but when I check status it says official still. hmmm!

Just went through the procedure, pressed root left it went to the store came back my computer said root successful, I checked phone status it still said official, checked my root checker it said am rooted so I restart my device and now it says custom. Thanks a lot really appreciated.

This WILL NOT work if you are on 4.4.2. Don't try this it may brick your phone. However if you're running 4.2.2 like the girl in the video is, then it will work. As of Nov 4, 2014 there is no known public method to root the Mega 6.3 on 4.4.2.

Hello Neoma, I've tryed your method on my Samsung galaxy mega 6.3 running Kitkat but for some reason it will not work. After installing the Kingo software I ran it and hooked up my device, there's a dialog box that pops up very quickly and I am not able to click on anything before it dissappears. And suggestions? Thanks so much.

Did not work for my unlocked AT&T Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 SGH-i527 with Android 4.4.2. I tried it twice and both times, after running through the process, it said that device was not supported.

I rooted mine with King root , only problem is the i527 has a locked bootloader and so far have not found a way to unlock it.

Hi, I followed all the instructions and Kingo said Root success! However I now can't use the playstore, Super User will not open and when I re-connect to Kingo it just gives me the option to Root again... Not to undo the Root. My Status does say Custom so it must have half worked... Can you help please?

Nobody has successfully rooted Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3, with AV 4.4.2 kitkat, it only works in there videos. Hope we all find help soon cos I'm part of this Nightmare.

No you don't need pc I found root for this phone sgh i527 on 4.4.2 I just rooted mine lime that no pc very easy look for kingroot the new update as of June 16 2015 download apk install open and root the one I did had Chinese letters your phone don't even reboot that fast
