Great lil video! Question: Why go 3.5" up from the bottom? It looks like you could put it closer to the bottom, which would allow the barrel to drain more fully. Maybe 2 or 2.5" would work OK?

The bottom of the barrel is curved so the lower the spout is installed the more angle on the spout increasing how close it gets to the floor. Installing it where I did only leaves 2” from the floor not allowing much room to put something under it to catch the water when the spigot is opened.

No it does not leak, mine is on a food grade barrel that I use for emergency back up in case of contamination in our water or no water.
