I really don't know how, as a lifelong crafter, I've never seen this done before! Beautiful. Thanks for the video showing how to do it. Very well done.

I haven't done this for a few years now, but i am ready to reconnect with it, I just finished 12 crystal sun catchers , and before that way to many stuffed cats and dogs, some people asked me where I bought them, as they thought they were alive.

I see lots of videos and blogs on how to do the folding, but pretty much nothing on how to create the pattern in a shape! It's so cool, but I want to learn to create and use my own patterns.
@CraftWithSarah2 жыл бұрын
If you can find a square or rectangle pattern then you can could your chosen shape from cardstock and put the square/rectangle pattern underneath and fold the lines that you can see through your cutout :)

After watching some of your videos, I am trying this for the first time. How important is it to trim off the edges that are overlapping other spaces?? I'm having a bit of trouble with that.
@CraftWithSarah11 ай бұрын
The folds shouldn't overlap each other, that's why you fold around in a "spiral" doing one strip on each side of the shape before before on, so that way none of the strips overlap. I have seen that you have sent me an email about this - I will reply tomorrow with some more information :)
@barbaradean7871 Жыл бұрын
Why don't you cut the strips thinner?????
@CraftWithSarah Жыл бұрын
Do you mean so that they don't need to be folded? If so, the fold is important - it gives a much better appearance when you look at the card.

Lovely work, where can i find patterns for letters? Thanks :)
@CraftWithSarah4 жыл бұрын
I have over 50 free patterns here: www.craftwithsarah.com/iris-folding/#free but I'm afraid I don't have alphabet letters. You could try looking on craftsuprint.com as there are lots of (paid) iris folding patterns on there.
