I just did a search for a "Treble Clef" using wire, and your video popped up first. I am thrilled to have found you! This is EXACTLY what I am looking for. I have to make 30+ theme inspired pendants for an upcoming mother-daughter banquet at my church. This is perfect! Thank you for taking the time to share your gift! I agree with the prior responders: your tutorial is clear and very easy to follow. Blessings!

Thank you for the video. I was a little disappointed that you didn't explain how to make the spiral. Those are really tricky, but you fast-forwarded through that part. The pendant looks very nice.
@FantasiaElegance4 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry that part was a bit fast! I do go over making those open swirls more slowly in many of my other videos. Maybe you would find these two helpful: (swirls start around 2 minutes in for each of them) kzbin.info/www/bejne/foqwoHprgbaabtU and kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIrQp5mPl62ljMk Mastering smooth swirls mainly just takes lots of practice getting the feel for how your specific wire behaves... you should be gripping the end you want to swirl with your pliers, while holding the other end with your non-dominant hand, then apply gently twisting pressure with your pliers hand. You will feel the springiness of the wire, all along the length of the wire, resisting the bend. You want to apply just enough pressure to gently overcome that resistance to start curling the end. It should almost feel like the wire is working with you to form the shape.

Thanks Jocelyn! I really like your tutorials - they're some of the best taught ones I've found, and also teach some really beautiful designs. I do have a lot of trouble with open spirals though, and was hoping you could give some tips on how to do this right. Mine always tend to become closed loops, and when I try to avoid this, they just tend to get a little kinked, and not come out round, as spirals should be. Any advice you could offer would be most appreciated :)

How do you figure out how much wire to use?
@FantasiaElegance5 жыл бұрын
Lots and lots of practice at estimating, I'm afraid ;) But using tutorials where the wire length is given is a great way to start out until you develop a sense for how much wire different projects will take. Other than that, using cheap wire the first time you a make a design and cutting more than you think you'll need is a safe bet. For some designs, it's also possible to work straight from the spool!
