This is sooo incredibly pretty! I have a question though that I constantly struggle with. What do you tell your clients to wear underneath see-through garments?
@TealLiketheColor2 жыл бұрын
I have some deep V adjustable slips I get off shein I have them wear underneath. it's not always possible to find something that goes underneath it without showing somewhere, usually in the back, but thats when you just have to get creative with angles.

What do you usually have someone wear under them? Nothing or little slip dress?
@TealLiketheColor3 жыл бұрын
Usually people wear nude undergarments. I photographed the blue one I made a few weeks ago and she wore pasties and nude colored undies. There is a photo of it on my IG of you want to see :)

I just stumbled across your channel while looking up how to male a dress for my clients. Is the white dress behind you the same as this one?
@TealLiketheColor2 жыл бұрын
It's a little different, but yes. The white one was the first dress I made and I made it a little wonky. There is a confussing video about it if you dig lol, maybe 2 years ago now.

This came out so beautiful! You made it seem simple to do. You’ve motivated me to attempt making one for myself. When you say @5:30 to cut the sleeve part “opposite” of the way you cut the rest of the dress, what do you mean?
@TealLiketheColor3 жыл бұрын
um, let's see how I can explain it better... if you're looking at the roll of fabric there is a top and bottom. In this case that small edge design was at the top and bottom. Instead of cutting from top to bottom, turn it and cut it down the middle. This leaves the pretty edge design intact to have them go up the neck line line they do. Does that help at all? I had filmed how to cut it but I could never find the clip after I loaded everything, sorry about that.

@@TealLiketheColor Oh yes! that totally makes sense! Thank you so much for taking the time to respond & clarify.

What are the measurements for the sleeve? I know 35” for the length but what about width? Thank you!
@TealLiketheColor3 жыл бұрын
The 35" is the measurment from the front to the back (under the bust to the back of the dress) and the other measurement would be how long you want your sleeves. That length can be whatever you want it to be.
@pixiestix1513 жыл бұрын
So is the bust just two panels? I can't seem to figure that part out
@TealLiketheColor3 жыл бұрын
Yes, 2 panels each one creates a sleeve.

I want to make one!! What do you suggest your clients wear underneath it? Do you provide that too?
@TealLiketheColor3 жыл бұрын
I usually don't provide undergarments. For most of these sheer dresses I recomend they wear nude undergarments. Pasties or a nude bra (sometimes the bra will show in the back but I don't often take photos of people backs lol) and just nude shorts, undies, or spanxs on the bottom. I have seen floor length slips that people use for under these sort of dresses but I've never used one.

Hi what is the actual width of your fabric 🙂
@TealLiketheColor3 жыл бұрын
This one was 54 inches. I think thats pretty standard for fabric in the USA.

Where do you get your lace?
@TealLiketheColor3 жыл бұрын
I got it from a local fabric store here in Hawaii called FabricMart.

I've been collecting fabric, table clothes and curtains for the longest time and took the plunge and made my first dress last night. It has a crushed velvet skirt and two matching lace curtains for sleeves. I just ordered some tassel trim from amazon and the piece should be complete. I'm now addicted and I'm anticipating making many more. Thanks for the inspo. Follow me on insta for when I post photos of the dress
