Angela I love this tutorial because you are really teaching brush Strokes and other factors like the importance of good brushes. I am a beginner and sometimes I struggle with the brush Strokes so it is good to see a demonstration. Thank you for all the hints as you went along. I needed every single one of them. I have followed several different painting tutors on KZbin. I think you might be my favorite. This painting took you two hours but it took me probably three hours because I had to stop several times. I ended up having more layers like you suggested - mainly because I wasn't happy with the first two layers. 😊 I was very happy with my butterfly at the end. Yes, you should do more of these where you give useful hints to beginners. I am 74 years old and just started painting a few months ago except for a couple of times at one of those paint and sip places.

You always awaken my creative energy...from the cool blues & grays from your spa candles that I turned my bathroom into...& the nautical theme in my livingroom w your nautilus & sea urchin shells & buoys and now...my bedroom to the soothing colors in this lavender painting...I was going to go peacock feather theme but once you added that bluish purplish greenish to that painting I knew right then...these were my color choices...w the reddish orange in butterfly wings to be my accents...a big huge thanks...for making my house so pretty!

I’ve come back later because I missed the tutorial. But in my years of painting in different mediums, I have found that flowers are always a hot mess unless you are painting a large flower. I think my flowers have come out looking like pine trees. I will need to go back in later. Thanks guys!
