I just painted this, and I had so much fun and felt better when I was done than I have with any other attempts. I’m a beginner, and I agree with other comments, these minis do build confidence and help us improve our process and skills. I didn’t get frustrated with myself, and while there are several things I want to improve, such as my sky, the idea of painting it again isn’t overwhelming, Thank you!

Hi Ellen, I have been watching your channel for a while now but today, I picked up a brush and painted this along with you. (I painted my lighthouse on tea-bag paper and mounted it on a card for a friend who moved to the coast last year's birthday. She loved it!) I know I'm a bit late to the party as this video was posted a while back, but I made it in the end and was super happy with the results and really enjoyed the painting of it. We in the UK have just been told this evening that we have another national lockdown, and this means even more wonderful distraction paintings to do, thanks for this. Can't wait to do this. I am grounded for 2 months inside home and we can only exercise once a day

I think my skies start to look better after I've put in the rest of the landscape.....trees, lighthouse, flowers, mountains, etc. It's like the brain only sees blobs until you give it a tree or something to show a relationship.

I usually use a smaller brush, like 1-2 sizes smaller than yours. I often use a tiny spotter brush, lol I'm still "heavy handed", but it always works out.....your tutorials are great.
