I suggested to try to get a Discord community server, so you can engage more of your customers and interested persons. I mainly use Discord and softwares like Toon Boom, Callipeg, etc, use Discord to engage with their customers. Your customers may also engage with one another, being able to share their experiences, give feedback and suggest features much quicker over there, as it has a lovely ease of use.

There is currently a discussions forum for ToonSquid on GitHub, where you can post about bugs, suggestions and have general discussions: github.com/keiwando/toonsquid/discussions My problem with using Discord for this is that the contents of a Discord channel don't show up on Google. Say someone has a question about ToonSquid that has already had a discussions and answer in Discord - they won't be able to know that from just googling it. That being said, time will tell. You are currently the second person to ask for a Discord server and if at some point I receive more requests for a discord server than people willing to use the existing discussion forum, I am of course willing to reconsider this.

Symbols is genius! You make it so you can embed symbols with in symbols. you will corner the animation app world. Being able to animate eye blink and lipsync symbols with in a head smybol and boom now I have a lipsync and eye blinking head I can animate now. This app come really close to Adobe animate. I have preaching to adobe to get it on the iPad pro but you may have beaten them.

Hello! Great app, I love the interface! Since I noticed this app gets updated often, I’d like to type out two things that would make me use it all the time! 1) this may be surprising, but I use the liquify tool in my frame-by-frame rough animations. So I’ve been making my rough animations in Procreate, then porting the pngs to ToonSquid for coloring. Would you be willing to add a liquify tool? I’d probably just do everything in ToonSquid if there were a liquify tool. And 2) I’m having trouble importing multiple images at a time into ToonSquid. I’ve tried sharing/exporting pngs to ToonSquid from other software, but it doesn’t work. I’ve found that once I’ve started a project in TS, I can hit library, then import a file, but I can’t select multiple images at one time. Nor select all, so I end up hitting library over and over to import multiple pngs. Such a marvelous app, amazing job with everything!

Hello and thanks for the feedback! I've noted down the request for a liquify tool. You were trying to import multiple images as the different frames of your animation, right? I love this app. Is there a way to have the audio play inside the symbol? Currently having a head symbol and inside that is a mouth symbol, for lip sync, my main audio file is in the main scene. But when scrubbing inside the symbol, the audio is not playing. I need to copy that audio and move it inside the mouth symbol. Just checking if there's any other way for this. Thanks.

However, when imported, the image, despite having an transparent background, ends up having a white background. Hi! Somebody else reported this issue once before and in their case it was an iOS bug. They were using an older version of iOS (14 I believe) and simply updating fixed the PNG import. If you are already using the latest version of iPad OS, then please send me an example PNG and what exact iPad model you have to [e-mail] and I'll try to see if I can reproduce the issue. Thanks!

There are different types of layers with vector contents. If you are adding vector brush strokes with the vector brushes, then you can fill regions in those layers using the fill tool. If you are adding path layers with the path tool or the shape library, then those can only contain a single path at a time. You can edit the "Fill" and "Stroke" properties of those layers to change their appearance: toonsquid.com/handbook/path/path_layer/ If you are encountering issues with the fill tool in combination with vector brushes, please let me know via [e-mail]

Can you color like in callipeg? The fill tool takes into consideration what ever is on the screen. That way you can color SO fast, because it doesn’t have to be on the same layer

My dream fill tool would have two options. 1) it respects whats on the layer (and what is not 2) it respects whatever lines are on the canvas disregarding layers. I know reference does this, but i think it would make more sense to have this under the fill tool. That way I don’t forget that i’ve referenced a layer fx

The key framing helps move the canvas or a single drawing without needing to copy and paste a lot, plus, FlipaClip needs you to either spam copies and pastes, or use frame viewer, this app lets you actually drag the animation clip to make it longer, like CapCut in a way, which is helpful. But it all comes down to preference

How will the mouth symbol act when the character head moves while talking? Do I need to reposition the mouth position as per the head movement or the software automatically tracks the prop (head) and the symbol (mouth) moves as per the prop's movement? Please clarify.

@@SaffireAnimation great. When you go to the transform hierarchy, take the layer that will be the parent and drag it to the right column. Then take the layer you want to be the child and drag it on top of the parent (not below it) this will show it indented with an arrow and it should work.

I found out the hard way if you create an animation clip from the library you don't have to "create symbol" on the layer you make it is already a symbol otherwise it will create another symbol without your markers and total confuse the situation if you are then looking for select from markers.

Actuall, the whole app is currently so buggy that it is useless. Just lost 2 hours work 2 times trying to animate with symbols. Anything symbol "eats" the whole project file and deletes everything in it and no symbols are created in the library. Too bad. Looked like a nice app, but clearly is not up to real use.

If you could maybe also include one of the backup files from before the project got corrupted or any amount of details about the project structure or your workflow (e.g. were you animating with frame markers like shown in this video) would be extremely helpful as well! When you opened the broken project, did the scene still have its original resolution or did it become square? Also, when you say "no symbols are created in the library" do you mean that you tried to add new symbols to the library of the broken project but they did not show up or that all of the previous symbols were gone from the library as well?

@@toonsquidart The project still had same dimesion but all frames were removed. Layers still there, but empty. I tried creating symbols directly from inside library and from a project file. Creating symbols removed the frames from inside project and then from the library after project was closed them re-opened. The iPad has iOS 17 installed. Before 17, I found many small issues in ToonSquid as well, but did not try symbols.
