Good ideas because lunch is meant to be light in my opinion. Plus I know your kids eat good breakfast and dinners.Thank you for sharing.

It’s amazing how your kids all get the same exact portion size when some are toddlers and then others older like 8 years !!!

while it seems weird, Kids generally have roughly the same nutrition needs over the span of multiple years. Most nutritional charts will show categories for 1-3 year olds, 4-8 year olds and then 9-13 year olds. They often leave a bit in their lunch boxes so she packs more than enough. That being said once the older kids start reaching puberty (which may be sooner than later), she’ll definitely have to adjust because after puberty nutritional needs become more varied by biological sex and exactly where they are in development.

@@haruxsaru That is interesting! I just know from my own experience that my toddler eats a lot less than my 8 and 10 year olds. My older ones would never be full on just one tiny slider sandwich and the little yogurt and fruit sides. But they are also in sports/dance and very active so maybe that is why they need more, too.

I have four kids 15,10,6 and 3 my oldest eats barely anything for lunch, her choice. My other two school aged kids have the same lunch. She gives them a good amount of food. The more kids have the more likely they are to come home with a bunch of food left.

Love watching your videos but I don't understand how this is considered lunch. I'm from Portugal, a lunch for kids in school is always a soup, meat/fish with rice/pasta and fruit. The school provides the food so parents don't need to worry

I mean my kids school provides a free lunch but it’s super gross my kids won’t touch it.
@roryandsage2 жыл бұрын
Ahh that would be so nice. The school lunches in the states are kind of expensive, especially if you have to buy for multiple kids. In Florida, a lot of the schools offered free lunch for everyone during Covid. It was so convenient not having to pack lunches!! We have noticed when traveling through Portugal, Portugal is one of those countries that really cares for their people! From food to transportation to medicine, things are really affordable!! ❤️❤️❤️
@abcteeters69262 жыл бұрын
At least here in Ohio lunch is only 25 minutes and most of the school lunches unfortunately get thrown out, with socializing kids and getting to their seat, they run out of time 🤷♀️ and the options the schools have for purchase are not close to the more home-cooked meal it sounds like you get in Portugal!

I’ve started freezing the Capri suns and apple sauce packets to use as the ice pack. Keeps everything cold and the drink or apple sauce is thawed by lunch.

I'm just curious as to why they don't eat school lunch and if they actually wanted to or asked to would you let them? My 13 yr old didn't ask to eat school lunch til he got in 3rd grade. So I let him switch and he's been eating it ever since. Not sure what I'll do with my 5 yr old once he gets in kindergarten, yet.

You’re allowed peanuts at school? We can’t have any tree nuts. Our kids HAVE to eat their fruit or veggies before they can move on to the “snacks”. It’s a school rule
@Jessa88912 жыл бұрын
That's so strange. I have never heard a school to rules for how the children can eat their lunch.
@emmareed91162 жыл бұрын
@@Jessa8891 I’m sure some don’t, but letters are sent home requesting healthy morning snacks and lunches. Kids are supposed to eat their main meal, before eating their cookies or such. Which makes sense. Some kids will go to school with nothing but junk. I’m going to assume they’re trying to teach children to eat healthy.

My kids eat their fruits/Vegs but if trying a new one I include at least a bite of it bc they’ll never learn to like something if it’s never offered. Plus kids monkey see monkey do & 9/10x they’ll eat it at school vs home.
