Absolutely love this design. Made 4 pieces in different colors - white, black, dark blue and salmon. Each one turned out beautiful. My friends have loved getting this as gifts.

Hi Ros, sorry for the late response, I hope you were able to find the rope lengths in the video description in the meantime, if not here you go: 14 cords at 6 m (20 ft) 10 cords at 4 m (13 ft) 8 cords at 3 m (10 ft) In total you will need 148 m (490 ft) Have fun! :)

Hi thank you so much for sharing this design it’s lovely.. if I wanted to make this but shorter in length (1mtere) what length ropes would you recommend instead? Many thanks
@annabaginova013 жыл бұрын
My pleasure and thank you! Well 1 meter is not that big of a difference, the piece I made ended up being about 1,3 meters so I would shorten all of the cords from the description by about 40 cm, so for the first batch instead of 6 meter cords cut only 5,6 meter cords.

I love this pattern. I purchased 3mm cord as listed. My project turned out much smaller with a great deal of cord left over. Should this pattern have been with 5mm cord? My width of my project turned out to be 30.48 cm.
@annabaginova012 жыл бұрын
I made it with the 3mm cord as well. The width can be different depending on how far apart you are putting your cords on the dowel. I would say mine was about 40 cm across once I put the cords on...

If I want to use 4mm instead of 3mm, any recommendation of about how much length I should add to each cord to be safe?
@tammyconlin22928 ай бұрын
To use 4mm instead of 3mm, add approx 33% to the lengths Anna used in this video. There are charts you can search for online for the conversions, if you are in any macrame groups on facebook most of them will have had the chart posted numerous times. Good luck!

If I wanted to make this less wide, can I use 12, 8, 6 instead of 14. 10, 8?
@annabaginova012 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, you can also then do each set of cords one meter shorter because there won't be as many knots in it...Just be aware that it will also end up being shorter (unless you change the pattern somehow in which case don't shorten the cords).
@errd1zzle3 жыл бұрын
Are the rope lengths talking about the ropes as they are when they are looped in half around the dowel or their total length before being looped? I never know lol I hope this makes sense
@annabaginova013 жыл бұрын
Hi Erika, they are the total lengths of cords that you should cut before looping them on the dowel ;) I totally get why you're asking, getting the right lengths is always the trickiest part :D

Hi ... if I do not want to make the first triangle, how much cord should I use?. and I should begin with an only one square knot and add cords??
@annabaginova01 Жыл бұрын
Hmmm, I would say you can shorten the cords by about one fifth of their length if you are cutting out the first triangle. And yes, you would then start with the one square knot in the middle and add more in the rows below. Have fun making it 😉

@annabaginova012 жыл бұрын
I got mine from a local supplier but I am sure you can get those in most home improvement stores or online. Mine are actually meat hooks (with the one pointy end) similar to these amzn.to/37Kl62p. And yes, I got them in multiple sizes to be able to work on smaller dowels and thicker pieces of drift wood. I hope that helps.

Hi, I feel like I'm following so far, but I'm a beginner, I've just purchased my first set of cords/yarns to make a piece, but I'm absolutely TERRIBLE at math and I'm in the US where we use standard measurements. Can you tell me how I'm to figure out lengths of the cords that I need if I wanted to create a completely original piece? Is there a formula that you use to figure out the rope/cord lengths? Thank you!

Hi, please i will do it with height 2,5 meter.., can you tell me what meter i will cut the cords.? To give me the height 2,5 meter?
@annabaginova012 жыл бұрын
Hi there 👋 I would do the 14 middle cords at 10m, then the next 10 at 8m and the last 8 at 6m so that you are not wasting too much cord on the sections with fewer knots. These are just estimates, unfortunately I didn't note down how long my piece was so it's a bit more difficult to give you a precise number...
@ig39813 жыл бұрын
how was it working with the black line?
@annabaginova013 жыл бұрын
I really liked it actually! I think the texture in the black is not as visible as the lighter colors so I probably wouldn’t recommend it for more boho-looking pieces but for this geometrical pattern it works really well I think. What do you think?
@melot-thierynathalie9252 Жыл бұрын
As for me, I usually work with the 3 mm rope by Bobbiny ( natural) but will definitely try this pattern using black or another color from Bobbiny, maybe blush or terracotta.😉
