I rememeber busting my ass on EE the legit way and the extreme joy when the screen went dark. I thought the challenge was over... until the choke sequence. Then it turns out the only time solidus is actually a challenge is on EE. This game is so brutal.

I beat this game on EE years ago when I was a kid. This method is definitely something I would've love to have known back then. But the one thing that astonishes me is finding out after watching this video is the fact that you had to beat 20 RAYs on EE! I had no idea back then on how many you needed to kill so it just felt like a never ending marathon to me at the time.

Sometimes Ro5e just joins the party and executes me. What gives? EDIT: If anyone’s wondering, the ray who approaches the platform will start to flank to the far side of you don’t strike immediately. If you whiff too many missiles while he does this, and he reaches the far side with full health, the Ro5e ray will join the party. Once I figured out how I messing up, it help me pass the challenge. I wish some these guides informed how things can go wrong, because there ALOT that can go wrong if you don’t execute this with immense precision.

On a seperate comment, no need to knee him first on the final kill shot. Its 3 knee face combos and one straight to the face for a kill.

I was 16 when I finally beat this on extreme back in 2002. It made me so mad I destroyed a few controllers over it. For me it was the missiles that came low that would get me. If you don't cartwheel the angle correctly at the perfect time it will kill you in one hit most the time.

I’m not sure if these videos are out dated or something wrong with my game on extreme and before I even get the 3 in the beginning to one hit they are already using the water jets and missiles after the first round of hits

Had to learn this through trial and error when it first came out on the PS2. After I figured out the pattern it was a breeze.

This technique is such a lifesaver. The execution is still a challenge, though. There’s such a small margin for error. I keep getting sucker-shot by the mouth laser of the ray right above me either right at the beginning of the meat and potatoes of it all or a good deal into the cycle. It always hurts the most when you get into the groove of things and then-whoops-instant death. I get too comfortable expecting the machine gun volley, and it’s time window, that the mouthbeam takes me by surprise. I’ve just got to keep at it, I suppose😰 This method was so helpful for hard. If this method is employed to make EE a cakewalk, surely normal-extreme can be won! 👊🏻 EDIT: I did it. I couldn’t have done it without this technique. Thank you🙏🏻

one problem I am having here is that when on the Loop and the RAY is at the center of the room, I shoot the leg then the head then it is invincible for a bit. After that, I keep on getting hit by the Water Cannon just as I'm able to lock-on again to the leg.

You have to "trick shot" the leg as shown in the video, i.e. fire before his invincibility period is up, such that the missle hits the knee right after he isn't invincible again

If someone dies from the laser attack when a ray is in the middle of the arena, it is because you shoot too late. You have to do the trick shot there. It works 100%.

I think there’s an intentional thing here built in by the devs… Rose doesn’t want to hurt Raiden and Raiden doesn’t want to hurt Rose so you ensure A05E isn’t involved in the fight and you can survive 😅
