Before the Christmas Cake can be baked, My mouth is watering with the ingredients spread. The raisins have absorbed the flavor, Cake tray has been lined with paper, Yummy mixture is spooned over. This is how I exactly make it Wendy(with a slight difference in measurements). My family even loves heating up the butter and rum- soaked fruits that way there is an intense flavour of fruits and the some elders in the family get this fake satisfaction that the alcohol has escaped a bit 😂😂. such a different technique from what I would have thought, many fruit cakes resemble a quarter quarts recipe where butter is creamed with sugar. but the proof is in the "pudding" and I admire the texture your cake has when cutting. Not crumbly at all. Well done. where did you learn that technique?
