I would sacrifice my unborn child to be able to just sketch any damn thing I want the way you do. Even your quick examples and doodles look amazing. And it's not so much the ability to draw anything, it's the stylization you have on tap. Everything is gorgeous. It's embarrassing how long I have to fiddle with a sketch to get it anywhere near decent enough to proceed. Anyway, thank you for this video! Mouths and expressions are the bane of my existence. I can do most of the head relatively well, but I'm always stuck screwing around with the mouth for sometimes hours. It truly makes or breaks the rest of it. The slightest positioning error or minute angle creates an entirely different creature.

The only sacrifice you really need is time, really. These artists have been drawing for way longer than you think and its unfair to yourself to expect similar output with less practice

A huge thank you for your videos! I'm still MANY videos back as far as really assimilating and practicing those guidelines, but what I have understood so far has definitely improved my art (as utterly amateur it is). Even though I'm not ready to do all those mouths yet, all the head shaping examples (what I'm mostly focusing on really understanding at the moment) in this video is pretty useful to see a lot more excellent examples in practices too. Thanks again for what I consider the best art tutorials out there!
@LinesSensei3 ай бұрын
I'm glad you found the head shaping examples useful. They can be tricky no doubt, but with practice, I'm sure you've got it. Also your "amateur" art is probably way better than you feel it is. never trust the vibes completely

Hi Lines. I want to tell you, that it's so nice, what you are doing. You do great art, you share it all with us, you teach us, you created a community, you give us homework... it's so cute! You do it all for free...You have a great heart. Thanks from my heart to yours. 🙏 2 day ago I joined at discord. It's like my biggest wish came true - a community, to learn, to share art, to share passion, to feel very positive motivation and it's an amazing social place as I realized. What you are doing is the key for a world where love can flow everywhere. Thank you ❤ Marcel from Germany

@LinesSensei3 ай бұрын
That's absolutely something I do plan to do. Before I teach something I like to make sure I can explain it in specific and explicit detail. The challenge for me then is the currently I paint backgrounds in fairly intuitive way which doesn't lend itself well to instruction. I've been trying to break down my method into more explainable steps so I'm definitely going to do it but it'll take a while for me to make it into something teachable from something that presently I'm doing thats more intuitive

Is it bad that I prefer the final pieces *before* the additional saturation through post processing? Like i think the first few steps of it are fine but that final bit of super saturating the colors seems like a bit too much to me.

I don't know about my drawings but if I'm drawing a mature woman (the Ara Ara type) it ends up looking like a bit weird I'd say "this character is a 50 year old kung Fu master" but he looks like a kid with a beard Any videos for showing the character's age by drawing?
