Yes, I'm so glad you explained that you need protein Bond and base over the mylar b4 build. I tried a mylar piece the size of my nail awhile back and had the top layer of gel come off the mylar too. Gotta base on top of it b4 build, I learned the hard way. so helpful! Not everyone mentions base on top when using lots of or large pieces of mylar. Thank you 💕

This is my go to nail design that I do on myself. It was fun watching you do it. I usually do clear background or reflective glitter background so now I’m going try a dark color.

@@jenine9 if you know me, I’m a big time nude and clear glass nail check lol it looks pretty both ways. The cool thing about the nude glass effect iridescent you never could see if you file on your nails when you’re working on clients or notice any imperfections. They look nice always!! 🤗🤩💅🏻✨💫 dimensional nails have been my thing for the past 19 years lol I was taught very basic then went rogue with it. It definitely my style of now for sure!! 🤗🫶🏻💅🏻✨

My teenage niece has really oily cuticles and nail beds. When I’m preparing the nails, I get the cuticle really well and take the shine off and swipe several times. I use protein bond twice like we do. I use synergy gel bc it holds the best. However, they still start lifting after a week. I should mention, she also has a lot of cuticle growth, quickly. Is there anything we could do to make the nails last longer on her?

@@ToshaRaeNailed Yes, does your light have a metal bottom? Or is it black or white?
@vibenaillounge13 сағат бұрын
@@ToshaRaeNailed are you prepping her nails with a 150 grit arbor band on anywhere between 4 to 6000 RPMs? That’s going to be your best prep. Don’t put any pressure just guide it along. I would also use the diamond cut Square cuticle bit from Young Nails. That’s a 150 grit as well. So I feel like it’s either your light doesn’t have a metal bottom and or you’re prepping with a hand file not a e-file and it needs to be a 150 grit. Let me know if not, we could try another process of elimination. 🙌🏼💅🏻✨

@@vibenailloungeyes to the 150 arbor bands at 6000 and I also use cuticle bits. Metal light bottom. (YN lamp)… I know, I’m running out of idea to try. Do you think it might be beneficial for her to use swipe around her nail bed maybe once a day? She’s already a compulsive hand washer. I know she doesn’t use her cuticle oil. She doesn’t like the greasy feeling. I do her nails once a month and I’ll tell you, her cuticles are grown out, thicker than most and well attached to her nail about 1/3 of the way up her nail. That’s with my once a month cuticle removal process. (I actually do use “cuticle remover” on her nails at the very beginning of the service bc of how thick and attached her cuticle is. I know she must have unusual nails but I thought maybe you’ve had clients like this.

Where EXACTLY is the appropriate area (for shorter nails in this case) for the apex? I always seem to have issues on my sides like right where my actual nail starts to come out to the free edge (I hope that makes sense) with it cracking, or breaking a nail. I might be filing the sides too thin? But I also think I'm not placing the apex in the correct place, either too far back or too far forward....I need help! Right now my nails are bare and VERYYYY SHORT, thin, and so much issues with my natural nail side walls. Like they are either notched, or the corners of the sides of my natural nail are cracking, digging into my skin like a shart point that's curved in so deep its poking into my sidewall skin. I do have (I think) deep side walls, like deep pockets on the side......how can I improve the health of my nails starting with them bare and in really rough shape??
@vibenaillounge17 сағат бұрын
@@gabriellephillips6626 I do know what you’re talking about. If you’ve watched some of my other videos, I tell you I always bring the side of the nail in…no matter what shape I’m going to do, especially if they’re wanting to grow out their natural nails. Then as long as you don’t over fill your sides, they’ll grow out very tight and not crack.. not even where your natural nails meeting the product! When you wear a short nails, you really don’t need a huge or thick apex. I tend to make mine tight around the perimeter and a spine meaning product in the middle that slowly graduate slightly up and then slightly down. I’ll do a short nail extension video. This will help a lot. Stay tuned. I’ll do it at some point next week. 🙌🏼🫶🏻💅🏻🤗✨💫
