I like that you actually slow down enough to point things out. The camera angle is perfect. Thank you.

For US folders, as several commenters have mentioned, this needs adaptation to suit 8.5" x 11" paper. Trimming the width to 7.75" is one option. However, this can be avoided by a simple modification at 0:55. Instead of folding the flap in half, folding in thirds will do the trick. (Paper Kawaii suggests this in a reply. I discovered this solution by trial and error.)

Easy to follow, simple steps and a good pace for a final envelope that looks giftworthy. End product looks just like the tutorial, even though I used a crookedly cut roughly A4 sheet, and it still turned out. Thank you and well done!

Thanks! I'll use the envelope for Christmas.

Thanks this is great. I've also discovered that if you want a bigger envelope you can take the staples out of the centre of a normal A4 magazine and then use those pages (UK). That paper is A3 when unfolded, so it makes an envelop that when finished fits an A4 piece of paper folded in thirds.

You have some unique designs, thanks for sharing! The only thing I don't like about origami is the measuring folds that go across what would be smooth areas. I wish there were more tutorials that showed partial creases which didn't go across the entire piece... Yes, that's MY personal preference.
@paperkawaii6 жыл бұрын
MICHELLE ROSS I agree usually, I try to keep it as clean as possible, for very easy folds, I keep the extra crease for beginners it’s easier :)

In inches this is 8.4 x 11.88 inches and needs to be cut down from a larger sheet. It does not work with the traditional A4 standard sheet of 8.5 x 11 inches. But love the design. If you double that final fold angle in half again it makes for a think envelope, but works. End envelope is a tad smaller but successful.

This model is not a traditional! It's "Favorite envelope" by Simon Andersen. It has been published in "25 years, Envelope and LetterFold Association, ELFA 1988-2013" edited by Origami Deutschland in 2013, on page 36, diagrams by Elsje van der Ploeg.

if you need the exact dimensions divide the short side by 0.34 and the long side by 0.5 to get the required size of paper. (I needed 5x10 envelope so 5/0.34=14.7 and 10/0.5=20)

Hello Chrissy, is there much of a difference if I use letter size 8.5 x 11inch ?
@paperkawaii6 жыл бұрын
Richard Dominguez I think it would work fine, at 0:56 just make sure your lower section is about the same, if it’s too big, fold it up in thirds or double fold it if that makes sense :)
@RichardDominguezTheMagicIsReal6 жыл бұрын
i think so, if the bottom is bigger I should it up to the crease once or twice before folding over the crease as in 1:14 is that right?
@muzvid2 жыл бұрын
@@paperkawaii By trial and error, I found that folding in thirds works. Folding twice makes the strip too narrow and adds bulk.

@theresedignard42673 жыл бұрын
Exactly my problem. It only works if you fold the side panels again. I think the copy paper (large) may work. Otherwise we need to pull out our metric ruler and cut things down from a larger sheet.
@theresedignard42673 жыл бұрын
If you take the final fold and double it back on itself in half so it does not interfere with the flap, I had success. Though it increases the thickness and creates a bit smaller envelope than her 8.4x 11.88 sheet begun with. :)
