Hi mate. Ive played around with duo band channels and tbh I can get the same (any) result with simple colour balance on the original image. Also it makes no sense to use green as the O3. If you look at sensor profiles..Yes, it has more signal than blue but it also has h alpha in it -as much as 1/5 of the red. Blue pixels are more specific to 03 as it has almost zero red sensitivity.

I'm sorry to hear you had trouble! It can be useful to unlink the STF when viewing the image early on in processing, you can do that by deselecting the little chain-link icon on the STF window. The rest of the steps may be easier to perform from there on out! Good luck :-)

Great video thank you. I am a PS user and thinking about moving to PI but hear about the steep learning curve and users going back to PS/other software which worries me as PI is a considerable expense. I use a quadband filter with my OSC and usually extract OIII, SII & Ha in APP rather than use the combined image. Is it easy to come from APP to PI with those three extracted images and process in PI ? Thankyou

Hey Julian! - I'm sure you could adapt the guide to work with masters created from APP 👍 Re: pixinsight, it's got a fairly steep learning curve but not insurmountable by any means - your best bet would be to download the trial and give it a good go during the 40 days 👍 I personally firmly believe it's the best astronomy processing tool out there, bar none! Hey Alexandre! That's not a problem I've experienced I'm afraid, are you opening the tool and dragging the triangular process icon over the intended image, or selecting to run it without a target? Hi Paul, I'm glad you've had a go at your data with it :) - to get more yellow I'd be tempted to either alter the pixelmath blended green weights, or instead use your curves in the green + red channels after recombination to raise those levels a bit which naturally would make more yellow :) While practicing this technique I just tried loads of variations of the above until I was finding results closer to what I wanted, It took me a while but you eventually start to get the feel for it.
