Dear Ma’am, Thank you for being taking the time to explain your drawing process in great detail and with great humor. I love learning from you. I’d never heard of a vanishing point or frogs view until today and I’ve been drawing and painting for a while now. Look forward to learning more . Take care

Amazing tutorial. Love how the architectural initial drawing was softened with scribbles: Exactly the help I was searching forward. Many thanks for the time this must have taken, I truly appreciate this. (It is bird's eye, not birth eye). I am so inspired now. You are a superb teacher.

Drawing with Lineke Lijn thankyou lineka, still on Mary's face, or rather the veil is as far as I have got today, your advice about using shadow to highlight a soft line rather than drawing one is useful for this as well . I read a biography of Michelangelo when I was in my 20's such an incredible man, but studying this closely if nothing else is showing me how awe inspiring he really is. I saw it in St. Peter's when I was 15 I wish I could g back there now and truly appreciate it but at least I have that memory and the Sistine chapel breathtaking 😊

Hi, I was wondering if you could tell me when to use the different perspectives? Not how, but when. I know how to use them I just don't know when you should use one point and when you should use two point and when you should use three point perspective. In which case scenario would you use each of them? Thanks!
@LinekeLijn
@LinekeLijn 7 жыл бұрын
Hi Know, That is a good question and in fact I sometimes use more perspectives in one drawing! For the inside interieurs a one point (or like here the bridge) for the landscape the two point and for tall buildings a thirth dissapearing point. ;)
@idontknow-sh4bj
@idontknow-sh4bj 7 жыл бұрын
Ah, okay, thanks. :) But do you know why that is? I'm trying to understand why one point is used for certain things and not other things. I heard it has something to do with the "picture plane" but I don't know what that means.
@LinekeLijn
@LinekeLijn 7 жыл бұрын
You can find this on the internet. the plane of a painting, drawing, or the like, that is in the extreme foreground of a picture, is coextensive with but not the same as the material surface of the work, is the point of visual contact between the viewer and the picture, and is conceived as a major structural element in the production of abstract or illusionistic forms. Drawing in perspective is a hard but very good practice. You can also check it here: www.dictionary.com/browse/picture-plane
@idontknow-sh4bj
@idontknow-sh4bj 7 жыл бұрын
I see, thanks, I though the picture plane had something to do with perspective. So I guess it's two different things.

The perspective in this tutorial is not correct, you can not have a three point perspective for the tower but not for the shed. When you use a third vanishing point for the vertical lines, the vertical lines of the shed should also converge there. This mistake is understandable though, as you would typically only introduce a third vanishing point (a zenith in this case, a nadir for a birds-eye-view) when you depict high structures. and not for a low shed... but once you introduce it, all vertical lines should converge to it and that includes the vertical lines of the shed and also the poles of the fence. So though i like your style of explanation, the content is not correct.
