Jerry Clower, the comedian, called those "Wop Biscuits" he said on Sunday morning every kitchen in the neighborhood the sound "WOP!" The mother's wopping those cans on the edge of the counter to bust them open. Another great video. I anxiously await your uploads. Yours is the top channel to keep my mind of the ugly news feeds. Thanks for the therapy.😊

Oh yeah- That looks yummy! You’re giving me so many new things to try. When camping I usually limit myself to my standard favs. Going to have to experiment and get out of my comfort zone! ☮️❤️☀️ Smooches to your pup!

So how do you spell "smusch" "smoosch" them over? Love your talking to the food you prepare. "Get in there, guy." You're a hoot. That's a good thing in down South lingo.
@ShoestringMartha13 күн бұрын
I'd probably say "smoosh." Sometimes the ingredients need a little convincing or some sweet-talking to get it to behave! 😂

pilsbury has come out with a monkey bread in the reffer section. have 1 in the house. directions say un roll the dough, cut the dough into like 3/4 inch squares. put sauce into your baking dish, toss in dough pieces, mix & coat with sauce, bakem up in this pan. haven't made them yet. looking at how many pieces you put in the pie irons, this would be like 4 or 5 batches. think you need lore butter to keep the bananas from sticking.

Nope, never heard of it, but now I gave, i need to taste it! Only issue is finding the biscuits - we get very few of these kind of packs in Europe.

If you've got the time, there are recipes for monkeybread from scratch! I believe the dough is pretty simple -- and probably lot healthier.

Hello to you from Texas. Checking in on you; wanting to ask if you are okay and if you have been affected by the horrible fires? Pray you are safe. As Always, Journey On

It really is awful out there 😢 Thankfully, no effects in Arizona, other than some bad air quality down in Yuma.

YUMMMMMMMMY 😃😉 The second one "Bananas Foster" looked GOOD !! I LIKE how you experiment with camp cooking, Martha 👌👍👍 ... (I might give this a shot myself .... maybe add some caramel and chopped walnuts or pecans, perhaps dusting of cinnamon ?? ) Ooowey Goowy 😋

If it were not for breakfast -- maybe a splash of bourbon 😉

What is it with those popping biscuit cans? They get me every time. 😂 I realllly need to get myself a pie iron and try some of these recipes out. Thanks for another great video.

Can they please invent a more predictable opening mechanism? I know the technology exists. 😂

Another great video, thanks! Do you have a link for the ammo box you use to put your stove inside? I really like that setup for pie iron cooking when there's no bonfire. Edit: Found it in another video😊

These look delicious!! I have never had brie..but you make it look sooo good...I'm definitely going to look into it. Question. Your camp. Is that Arizona..or what state please. I've never seen the desert except videos...one day I really need to see it. I'm falling in love with that type of area. I've always been a trees..forest river girl..but im craving that minimalistic peaceful landscape

It is in Arizona, near the town of GIla Bend, about 80 miles north of the Mexican border. As for brie, it ain't for everyone. I hated it when I was younger -- too sour and funky. Now I love it for those same reasons and its richness.

Those both look delicious! I’m gonna have to try this one for sure! Re: fuel canister, do you have the weight empty and weight full? That would be a way to know you’ve filled it to full capacity.
@ShoestringMartha13 күн бұрын
I did it the first time I used it, but since then, haven't bothered to drag out the scale. That would be the proper way to do it and would save me some annoyance.
@jaccourt953114 күн бұрын
Could the canister be leaking.?
@ShoestringMartha14 күн бұрын
Pretty sure it has to do with using a nearly empty can to fill OR good ol user error 😬

Love your videos. I’m curious, with all the pie irons you have do you have a favorite or a go to? And why?
@ShoestringMartha13 күн бұрын
I lost my favorite ages ago and don't remember the maker, but I think it was similar to this one. Lightweight, non-stick, straight sides, inexpensive, and the clasp is at the end, where is doesn't slide down the handle. If it has the S-clip -- PASS. coghlans.com/products/cast-iron-camp-cooker-1

@@ShoestringMartha Thanks so much for the information! Keep the great videos coming. You’ve inspired me to give car camping a try, when it warms up a bit.

What did you sprinkle and roll on the dough before placing in the pie iron for the Banana Foster….the butterscotch pudding?

cinnamon sugar! I forgot to say it so I have it as a caption.
