The HW 45 pistol can be a chore to prime when you are firing more than a few rounds. Here is I show you the most energy efficient way to prime it. The pellet goes in the barrel head first once the pistol is primed. Priming this way I can fire over 100 pellets and not ever feel it. Knackered arms do not lead to a steady arms for an accurate shot. Even easier. I rest the cocking arm on my leg and use the handle as the cocking lever. More weight advantage and better grip.

Good tip. Try resting the butt of the pistol on your chest, ribcage area, and apply the same priming technique and you get the same effect.

Nice instruction. For maximum leverage and minimal effort, I cock it with my left thumb at the far most end of the barrel and with the pivot point on my knee with the grip in my right hand, all afternoon, easy peasy.

I use full power all the time and shoot at 30ft - 40ft. I tried this but the pistol lacks feel, punch and hitting power shooting like this. However, it is your pistol you shoot it how you like. Enjoy your shooting.

Hey. I got the hw 45 black star and think about to buy the hw 45 standard. My hands are almost to big for the black star... so can you confirm its easyer to shoot with the standard? Would be glad you tell your experience about the grip diffrences. Thanks, greetings from germany

Greetings, I have small hands so I find the Colt 1911 style grip more pleasant on the hands. The larger sculptured grip I feel is a large grip for my hands. However, I can use both just fine. The pistol for some reason feels heavier with the smaller grip.

@@PaulBriden thanks for the quick answer. I have also only medium hands, but what you call a large grip on the black star, its very broad and hard to handle the recoil for my taste. Thats why i would go next with the standard model. Plus point for me, you can change the grips. For my taste the hogue 1911 black grips are awesome.. Uhmmm i guess i should buy the standard version. when they are next to each other looks like a wonderfule couple 😊👌

Its an air pistol not a sports car. However, what is the point ? the weight of pellet, age of the pistol, but most importantly, how good a shooter the user is.
