wow when you added the blue to the shadow I was so surprised by how much of a difference it made compared to using just black.

Also, try experimenting with linear dodge and soft brush to make your lights "bloom" out. Very effective! Linear dodge, color dodge, multiply, overlay and so on are all fantastic layer/brush styles to experiment with while you learn digital art. I teach way more in my Cinematic Design course. Cheers! W.

Very nice! Could you do a video about how to use different types of layers/brushes, like linear dodge, etc? I'm confused as to what colors work best for each type of layer and how they could boost up the painting. For example, what if we use dark colors in color dodge layer instead of light colors, what quality could be enhanced by doing so?

I’ve never watched a lot of art tutorials, in hindsight probably a huge mistake, because I never felt like they helped much. I’m at the very beginning of my landscape painting journey, but just watching a few of your videos has helped me improve immediately, it’s crazy. Thanks so much for putting this stuff online for free, watching you paint is mind blowing.

Do you have a video on how to set up our scene for perspective/landscape paintings? Or can you record one when you have time? I am having some difficulty in how I should paint my landscape and fill the scene from scratch.

Hey Walid! First of all thank you for the amazing tips. I followed your tutorial along and used the same brushes as you but for some reason I do not get the texture and blending the way you get on the canvas. I notice you did not have Pen-Pressure opacity turned on either so there must be some difference in settings? Please guide me on this one. Thanks!

I have not understood yet about why the main shadow and cast shadow has Blue color? is it reflected to the sky light? or all shadows have blue in them? thanks
@WalidFeghali
@WalidFeghali 2 жыл бұрын
It's definitely the sky! If you have shadows on Mars for example, you will see more reddish color in them because the sky is more red. Here on earth, on a sunny day, you have blue sky so the shadows outdoors will be blueish. If you have a cloudy day, the shadows will not be blue. :) Best, W.
