My wife and I and our 3 kids, ages 4, 10 and 15 had this shrimp boil for dinner tonight. There was enough left over for my work lunch tomorrow. It was delicious. Perfectly flavored and not too salty or spicy. My only changes were not adding any cayenne pepper and adding a whole cup of chicken broth instead of just the half cup it called for. I used the original Louisiana brand hot sauce.

Me daughter and I are headed to the store right now!! I’ll be back with a review tonight! Edit!! Omg this recipe is the bomb!! What’s a good boil without the proper sauce!!? This sauce is so good. I don’t eat pork so I substituted with smoked Turkey eckrich sausage and it’s still great. Added a few king crab legs to the mix and boom! Thanks for this! I found my go to sauce recipe 😊 no more spending $100+ to go out to eat for a boil.. I got juicy crab right in my kitchen lol

I’m glad you said this because I’m so worried I’ll cook this and everything would be too salty. I want flavor yk. I constantly watch tutorials and never try it. But I’m going to try tonight!! Tired of spending 200 at a restaurant for this.

Man Oh! Man. I made this and thought I was back on the bayou! I used some Tom Landry Choot'em andouille sausage, Tony Chachere's instead of Old Bay. Some Ghost pepper hot sauce and a nice serrano pepper finely chopped. I made half the amount for 1lb of shrimp (shell on for more flavor) for my sweetie and she loved it. Watermelon for dessert, it was perfect.

Hi Jay, I follow your channel religiously and thank you for everything. ONE REQUEST: Could you be more specific with the cooking times and the heat settings? For example, roughly how much time does it take to get potatoes and corn to "fork tender"? And for the shrimp, how long should we cook it for? At what heat setting? Everything in the pan, is that all made from beginning to end at the same heat level? Is that heat level medium, medium high or high? How long is simmer for a little while? After mixing everything, how long do I simmer it for before it's ready? Thanks in advance, looking forward to your response.
@WhipItUpWithJay2 жыл бұрын
The corn and potatoes took about 10 mins, they other ingredients were cooked over medium heat, I initially let the sausage, garlic, and onions cook for 2-3 mins, after adding the butter and chicken stock I let it simmer for about 3-4 more minutes. After adding the shrimp I let it simmer for a additional 5-6 minutes, everything aside from the corn and potatoes was cooked at medium heat, the corn and potatoes were boiled in water at high heat

Hello everybody! I love seafood. And there are many of them in our country. I myself am from Ukraine. In connection with the war, she moved to America. We have many of the same products, but different cooking recipes. For example, we cook crayfish in salted water with fresh dill, and stew shrimp with garlic and cream. I try your cuisine with joy and interest. The combination of potatoes, corn and seafood with spices is something new for me, but it was love at first sight! I tried something similar in a Chinese buffet. Now I can cook it at home. Thanks for the recipe!

As a kid, without ever having anything seen anything like this, I grabbed a bag a frozen shrimp we had and threw some stuff in a pan, and only just recently thought I looke into how most people ACTUALLY make shrimp and somehow as a kid I lucked into something pretty close to this, I basically thre butter and seasoning into a wok and boiled the shrimp in it. Wild how that works
