What's For Tea?

What's For Tea?

Күн бұрын

Hi folks :)
Welcome back to what’s for tea! And I hope you’re having a fab day so far!
Tonight for tea I made a super convenient one pot meal in the slow cooker :) I popped this on at 11am this morning and it was ready for us when I got back from work at night! Fab combination of rump steak, baby potatoes and carrots. And if you’re following slimming world, this is a Syn free meal :)
I’ve listed everything I used down below.
Thanks for stopping by and until I see you next, take care x
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Makes enough for 3-4 people
3-4 Rump steaks (one per person)
1 Onion-finely diced
3-4 Baby carrots per person
2-3 Baby potatoes per person
200ml Beef stock (1 cup)
1 Teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 Teaspoon each of salt and black peppercorns
Optional herbs :)
(Cover and cook on Low for 8 -9 hours until meat is tender)

Rump-steak is not popular in America. In fact the first rump-steak I ever had was in England and I said to who I was with this is going to be tough and nasty. Well it was not tough and nasty. I thought it was quite tasty and had much more of a beef flavor than more higher-priced steak. I have got to make this! A word of warning for everybody if you go over or even to 10 hours what happens when you braising meat this way is that reverse osmosis begins because the beef cannot take on any more liquid so it gives off all of the liquid that it has. You will end up with the driest most unpleasant really inedible piece of meat. It is happened to me several times. I think I will have to go to the butcher for rump steak or I could use top round which is also known as London broil. When they go on sale I get three or four and freeze them they also make a great beef stew. Be well!

Although it's still warm in North Florida, I made it yesterday anyway, and Mom and I had left-overs with mashed potatoes today. :) I knew that I'd not have 8 - 9 hours, so I popped it on 'high' for 5 hours. While it would have been extra awesome the other way, it worked well enough. With a 3 pound roast, I ended up getting about 9 servings of roast beast/stew (it shredded when I was moving things around - still had some big chunks, but it definitely went the consistency of stew - which is totally fine, of course! :) Oh, and from one of your other recipes (I think) I added red wine as well...definitely added some good flavor as well.

I had to come back and watch this video again. What is your favorite tea? Is it true that hot tea will break up congestion in your chest and help cure the bad flu? If so do you know what kind of tea? I have had the flu for almost a mounth. The doctors are not helping me very much. I'm congested in my chest and can't sleep at night. I'm sorry to bother you. But if anyone can help me. Please let me know. Thank you & God Bless, Everyone.

Hi Cheryl, I am on my own. Have no family at all. I wanted to ask you how much meat to use for 1 person?. I am a senior citizen. I don't mind making enough to have for two meals. I don't think I have seen the same cut of meat exactly that you use so not sure what type of meat to use? I am in California. Will have to leave out the onions. Allergic big time. Also, don't have a sieve. Thank you.

Yes as chef if I was doing a meal like that with rump steak. I would caramelise a large onion with a half teaspoon of sugar and a dollop of Worcester sauce. Add some sliced green peppers, then in a seperate pan fry the steak to my liking then lift it out and rest it. Then add the onions and peppers to steak juices, with the heat back on and flambé a little cognac add some double cream and reduce until thickens and add a teaspoon of Dijon mustard.. amazing sauce.. Mr What’s For Tea will love it too.
